Jintai Temple was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty and has a history of more than 700 years. Jintai Temple was formerly known as Jintai Jingshe, and the Yellow Poplar Mountain, which is backed by the first peak of the Pearl River, is one of the Eight Views of The Yellow Poplar.
At the end of the Southern Song Dynasty, when Emperor Xiangxing Was defeated, the general Zhang Shijie led the rest of the army to break through, and when he encountered a fierce wind in the South China Sea, he died, and his body drifted to the foot of The Yellow Poplar Mountain, where he was buried by the villagers at the foot of the Yellow Poplar Mountain. In order to avoid the Yuanbing to hunt down and kill the hermitage here, the widow named it "Jintai Jingshe", and later the descendants of the Zhao clan renamed the "Jintai Jingshe" to "Jintai Temple" as a place for monks to practice and run the Tao.
As soon as you enter the mountain gate, you will see the engraving of "The golden body is eternal, the taiwan mirror is always bright", which is inscribed by Huang Huaisen, the inspector of Guangxi in the Qing Dynasty. On both sides of the arched door is engraved a plaque with the words "The Milk of the Law flows long, and the Tao is far away" to show that this door is a Buddhist holy place, and the inner wall of the arch is painted with colorful Buddhist patterns, which means that after passing through this door, the red dust will be far away and the Heart will be devoted to the Buddha. A long embankment separates the reservoir from the village in half, with a quaint village on the left and a turquoise reservoir on the right. On the road to the temple, there is a clear spring, and the nearby villagers say that this is the mountain spring water that flows down from the Yellow Poplar Mountain, which is extremely sweet, and they will often come here to fetch water to feel the illumination and grace of the Buddha's light.
Jintai Temple is surrounded by mountains on three sides and water on one side, qinglong mountain on the left and White Tiger Mountain on the right, listening to the nearby villagers, this ancient temple incense is very strong and magical.
