In the history of the red agent of our army, the most complicated identity is Yuan Shu, who has too many identities to make people unable to recognize who he really is, but in the final analysis, we can know that Yuan Shu is undoubtedly a red agent.
Yuan Shu is a native of Puchun, Hubei Province, when he was young, he came to Shanghai with his parents to make a living, in 1928, he went to Japan to study, in 1931, after Pan Hannian's introduction, Yuan Shu joined the Central Special Branch, from then on, he began his gray life.
In 1933, according to the orders of his superiors, Yuan Shu broke into the Kuomintang secret service organization Zhongtuo, and according to the orders of Wu Xingya, the head of the Central Command in Shanghai, Yuan Shu once again befriended Eiichi Iwai, the deputy consul of the Japanese consulate in Shanghai.
Iwai Eiichi is a very ambitious person, for the secret service organization, he attaches great importance to, Yuan Shu became an agent under Iwai Hideichi, he told Wu Xingya about this matter, Wu Xingya asked him to insist, and try to obtain important information.
At this time, Yuan Shu already had three identities, red agent, central unification agent, and Japanese army agent.
In 1935, Hua Ertuo, acting director of the Far East Bureau of the Communist International, was arrested in Shanghai by agents of the military command, and the list he recorded had Yuan Shu's name on it, Yuan Shu was arrested, he resolutely refused to admit it, Hua Ertuo did not betray Yuan Shu, and finally after various rescues, Yuan Shu was released, and after that, he went to Japan again.
After returning to China, it was already the eve of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and dai Kasa, the head of the military command, found him and hoped that he could join the military command and provide intelligence for the military command.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Iwai Eiichi was already the Japanese consul general in Shanghai, and he established a secret service intelligence agency "Special Investigation Institute" in China, and because he was busy with affairs, he entrusted this task to his trusted friend, that is, Yuan Shu.
In 1939, due to the rebellion of Wang Tianmu, the director of the Shanghai Station of the Military Command, Yuan Shu's name was exposed in front of Li Shiqun, the leader of No. 76, Li Shiqun arrested Yuan Shu, and at the critical moment, Yuan Shu let his wife go to find Iwai Eiichi.
Iwai Hideichi personally went to No. 76 to ask for someone, and Li Shiqun did not dare not agree.
There is a Xingya nation-building movement in the special investigation institute, and the task of this organization is to oppose Wang Jingwei, and while the Japanese are co-opting Wang Jingwei, they are also afraid that his family is dominant, so they form a competitive relationship.
This movement was the rise of Yuan Shu, and his actions made Iwai Eiichi very praised, so Yuan Shu had another task, that is, to directly oppose the secret service organization "No. 76" of the Wang Jingwei government.
In the Central Command, the Military Command, and the Japanese Army Agent, Yuan Shu was at ease, but in the final analysis, he was still a red agent.
Yuan Shu provided a large amount of valuable information to the party organization, including: first, in 1939, the British and French attempted to sacrifice China's compromise with Japan in the Far East Munich activities, second, on June 13, 1941, the German-Soviet war was on the verge of breaking out, third, early 1942, fourth, to determine the intelligence of the Japanese army's southward advance, the deployment of Japanese troops in southern Jiangsu, and the clearance operation.
In addition, Yuan Shu also used his special status to establish secret transportation routes for the party organization, and he once protected Lu Xun's wife Xu Guangping, Fan Changjiang, Zou Taofen and others.
Most of the anti-Japanese intelligence in the Soviet and central jiangsu areas commanded by Su Yu came from Yuan Shu.
What people have to admire is that since serving as a red agent, Yuan Shu has not had an accident once.
After the victory of the War of Resistance, the Kuomintang quickly seized the materials left by the Japanese, and Yuan Shu decided to sell all the contents of the special investigation office and then hand them over to the party organization.
After his efforts, all the materials of the special investigation institute were turned into three boxes of gold, foreign currency, real estate deeds, bank documents, etc., which were worth more than tens of millions.
All this money yuan shu handed over to the underground party organization.
After a while, the military commander finally discovered that something was wrong with Yuan Shu, so he called him a traitor and wanted to arrest him, at that time, Yuan Shu had already been arranged by the party organization to come to the Liberated Areas.
After the founding of New China, Yuan Shu worked under Li Kenong, in 1955, Yuan Shu was unjustly imprisoned until he was released in 1975, and in 1987, the red agent Yuan Shu, who completed his legendary life at the age of 76, was buried in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.
