It's that ageless memorial, an eternal memory

In July and August 1949, on the eve of the peaceful liberation of Changsha, a female comrade with a special identity quietly entered Changsha. This person is Yang Kaihui's cousin Yang Kaiying. She entered the city at this delicate moment, entrusted by Chairman Mao to handle some private affairs. History here, leading to a person, a Chen Yuying who served as a nanny for Mao Zedong and Yang Kaihui for four years, known as Sun Sister-in-law.

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

Sister-in-law Chen Yuying and daughter Sun Yan

On July 25, 1949, there were still ten days before Cheng Qian and Chen Mingren teleported the uprising. Yang Kaihui's cousin Yang Kaiying quietly entered Changsha City. This time back to her hometown, she was entrusted by the chairman to find a deceased person named Sun Ba niang, the sister-in-law of Sun Ba niang.

In contact with the comrades on the joint, she got a rather unexpected news, the chairman asked the sister-in-law to be found, has been waiting for her at No. 21 Education West Street.

Yang Kaiying first met His Sister-in-law in 1926. That year, Mao Anying was four years old and Mao Anying was two years old. It was winter, and Yang Kaihui was about to give birth to her third child, who needed to be taken care of. The sister-in-law was introduced to this family.

Kaihui later said to Chen Yuying, we first took a fancy to you, your big feet and short hair. Foot-wrapped coil hair is something that binds women in feudal society, it is to be broken, and women with big feet and short hair look so spiritual.

Chen Yuying, her husband's family name is Sun, known as Sun Concubine. The granddaughter-in-law who has been a child bride since she was a child has been out to help at the age of 10. Before coming to this family, Sister-in-law Sun had more than ten years of nanny experience, but the owner's words were obviously the first time she heard it. Sister-in-law Sun said that this time she met a good family.

Sister-in-law Sun would not have thought that this nanny experience would completely change her attitude and trajectory in life.

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

Yang Kaihui and Shore Ying and Shore Qing

In fact, the grandmother's experience in this family is not long. Four years later, in 1930, Yang Kaihui was killed, and the father of the Brothers Of Shore Ying and Shore Qing, Mr. Runzhi, could not hear from him, and his sister-in-law returned to his grandmother's house in Changsha with his child. A few months later, someone came to pick up the child in Shanghai and then sent it to the Soviet Union, and Sun Sister-in-law also returned to her hometown in Ningxiang. Since then, Sun Sister-in-law has broken off contact with the Mao family.

However, since then, Sister-in-law Sun has been inquiring about the Mao family. Waited for twenty years until the spring of 1949.

Sun Yan, the daughter of Sun Yan, recalled before she died, "In the early days of liberation, fighting everywhere, my mother heard that Zhu Mao was going to enter the city, she knew who Zhu Mao was, and after listening to it, she went to the temple to draw a sign, and the signature said that if you go outside, you need to go early and go to the east to meet the deceased." ”

In April 1949, Sister-in-law Sun suddenly decided to entrust her daughter Sun Yan, who was only nine years old at the time, to the care of relatives, and returned to Changsha City alone and found a host to live in.

On this day, the owner will move from Wenyun Street to Education West Street. While cleaning up objects, Sister-in-law Sun overheard someone talking next door. One of the names, let the sun sister-in-law's eyes shine, Yang Kaiying, remember Yang Kaihui's cousin is called this name. Over the years, the names of the relatives of the Mao family and the Yang family have been read countless times in the heart of Sun Sister-in-law.

As if there was a destiny in the darkness, Yang Kaiying successfully found Sun Concubine.

Yang Kaiying said that when she met Chairman Mao in Beijing, the chairman asked you about your situation many times and asked me to come to Changsha to find you by all means. In May next year, Mrs. Yang's birthday, Shore Ying will come back and live in Mrs. Yang's house at No. 8 Xisheng Garden.

Kishi Ying is also coming back, which is a scene that Sister-in-law Sun has dreamed of countless times in the past 20 years.

Sun Yan, the daughter of the granddaughter-in-law, "My mother is in their house, Yang Kaihui let my mother be the master of the house, asking her to discipline the three children, beating or scolding, like to their own children, of course, the beating is not very painful." ”

For nearly 20 years, sister-in-law Sun has been looking forward to the news of this family, which is a simple family affection. During that period of time together, Sister-in-law Sun has developed a deep emotional identification with this family. The atmosphere in the family has opened the eyes of the grandmother-in-law. Even, after experiencing the hardships of the wind and rain, this emotion also adds a sense of suffering and sharing.

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

In the early days of the Great Revolution, Mao Zedong often went to the countryside to investigate and gave lectures at the peasant movement seminars. Yang Kaihui helped sort out and copy various materials. The home is a meeting place, and the famous revolutionaries Peng Pan, Cai Hesen, Xia Minghan and others are often in and out.

When they held meetings, sister-in-law Sun always sat on a small bamboo chair outside the door and waited, and every once in a while she would go into the house to add tea to them. Although she couldn't understand what they were discussing, she felt that what Mr. Junzhi Dongjia had discussed with his friends must be a big deal.

When Sun Sister-in-law lived in Wuchang with the owner's family, because she had no culture and spoke a Ningxiang dialect that others could not understand, Mao Zedong was worried that she would not find a way home when she went out to run errands, so he made her a white cloth strip. It reads: Chen Yuying, No. 41 of the Wuchang Capital. Mao Zedong said to his sister-in-law: "Give you a mark, put the cloth strip in your pocket when you go to the street, if you go the wrong way." I don't know how to go home, take it out and ask the passers-by, and people will tell you how to go. ”

In the summer of 1927, the Great Revolution failed, and Yang Kaihui returned to Changsha Bancang with her children. Mao Zedong, who secretly sneaked back to Hunan, prepared for the uprising day and night. At the end of August, Mao Zedong went to direct the autumn harvest uprising, and before leaving, he instructed Yang Kaihui to take good care of the children. Yang Kaihui brought straw shoes to her husband and told her husband Dong to dress up as Langzhong. But no one expected that this time the words were goodbye, and it would become a husband and wife forever!

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

In 1927, Mao Zedong launched the Autumn Harvest Uprising and created the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Base Area, and Yang Kaihui stayed in Changsha Bancang to insist on secret work. Because she often preached revolutionary principles, the surrounding peasants affectionately called her "Xiagu".

Sister-in-law Sun worked as a nanny at Yang Kaihui's house, and it had been more than a year by this time. Because Yang Kaihui was busy with revolutionary work, the family and her three children were taken care of by Sun Sister-in-law, who completely placed her heart in this family.

In the more than 4 years of Yang Kaihui's family, Sun Sister-in-law has not returned to her hometown once, nor has she written a letter to her home. In order to make things easier, in order to save time combing her hair, she simply shaved her hair. Originally, Sun Sister-in-law worked as a nanny at Yang Kaihui's house, and she was paid 5 yuan per month. But seeing that Yang Kaihui was also very difficult at this time, Sun Sister-in-law took the initiative to propose not to take the salary, and also took out all the wages she had saved before to supplement the family.

After going to Jinggangshan, Mao Zedong wrote a letter to Yang Kaihui in code language, to the effect that I was doing business here, making money, and the business was booming, and he also mentioned his foot injury.

At the beginning of 1928, the letter passed into the hands of Yang Kaihui. Yang Kaihui was so excited that he wrote back to her husband overnight. The reply was sent by Sister-in-law Sun to a place called Luojiapuzi, which was the party's underground transportation station. After that, every few days, Sister-in-law Sun went there to see if there was a reply from Mr. Runzhi. But Guan Shan was far away, and the reply did not wait.

During that time, Yang Kaihui wrote in his diary,

"When he finally had a letter, I burst into tears of joy, but his life was going to worry me after all, and I always had to live with pain..."

"It's another night without sleep, I can't stand it, I'm going to run to him..."

"The poor child has dragged me back again, and my heart is carrying a heavy burden, one is him, the other is a child, and no one can take it..."

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

On October 24, 1930, Shore Ying's 8th birthday, on this day, he and his mother Yang Kaihui were arrested together. The enemy escorted Yang Kaihui's mother and son, as well as nanny Sun and sister-in-law, back to Changsha and imprisoned in Xiecaoping Prison.

There was no bed in the trumpet, only a layer of straw on the damp cement floor. At night, mother and son and grandmother huddled together, waiting for dawn. Even in the daytime, it is dark and damp, and it cannot penetrate the sun.

Every day they were interrogated and tortured every day, Yang Kaihui and Sun Sister-in-law were tortured to death by the enemy, but they never gave in.

The reactionaries said to Yang Kaihui: As long as you publish a statement in the newspaper that you and Mao Zedong have broken off your marital relationship, you can be released immediately, otherwise, you will only have a dead end. Yang Kaihui said: If you want to kill, you can kill, I will not listen to you. Yang Kaihui left such a sentence to the comrades who came to visit the prison: Death is not a pity, I hope that the runzhi revolution will be successful as soon as possible!

Many years later, in 1982, when repairing Yang Kaihui's former residence in Itakura, people found her poems hidden in the wall, and the yellowed pages were her Juanxiu handwriting, which poured out her true love for her husband and her love for her 3 children.

"I was born for him, and I imagined that if one day he died, I would have to follow him to death, and if he was caught by the enemy and killed, I would share this fate with him..."

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

The words are pearlescent and sincere.

On November 14, 1930, armed military police escorted Yang Kaihui out of his cell. Usually, she and her sister-in-law were escorted to trial together, but this time they only took her alone, and Yang Kaihui and Sun Sister-in-law realized what was about to happen.

Yang Kaihui said, Sister-in-law, you take the child well, tell his father about this situation, you will be fine in the future, you must be strong. Sister-in-law Sun kept crying and shouting, if you want to kill me, kill me, however, Yang Kaihui just left. Looking at Kishi Ying, who was crying breathlessly, Sister-in-law Sun held the child tightly in her arms.

Yang Kaihui was killed by reactionaries at the age of 29 in Changsha Zhizhiling.

A month later, Mao Zedong, who was far away in Jinggangshan, learned of Kaihui's death from the enemy's newspaper. The past came to mind, and he wrote a letter to Kaihui's brother Yang Kaizhi, saying: "Kaihui's death is irreparable." And sent money to ask him to erect a tombstone for Kaihui, inscribed "Yang Mu Kaihui Tomb." Male Shore Ying, Shore Qing, Shore Dragon Carving. The 19th year of the Republic of China was established in the winter".

After Yang Kaihui's sacrifice, Sun Sister-in-law took Shore Ying to sit in prison for more than a month, and was punished every day. Yang Kaihui's death not only did not frighten the thin sister-in-law, but also aroused the stubbornness in her bones. Even if her two knees were blackened, she would never say anything.

It is hard for our descendants to imagine the darkness and suffocation of China in the early 20th century, when China was full of sorrow, when thousands of years of civilization had collapsed, and before new directions and new lights had yet shone in. In that era, some people struggled, some people wandered, some people threw water, some people sacrificed. Yang Kaihui and Mao Zedong were the sons and daughters of Huxiang who were the first to gain the trend, saw through the fate of the nation, and were determined to use their lives to create a new world for China.

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

Mao Anying

In August 1949, when Changsha was peacefully liberated, Yang Kaiying telegraphed the chairman of the board of directors with the news of finding Sun's sister-in-law. In April 1950, Chairman Mao sent his eldest son, Kishi Ying, back to Hunan to pay homage to his grandmother, visit his mother's grave, and at the same time instructed Kishi Ying to go to Changsha to find his sister-in-law and arrange her life.

On May 24, 1950, twenty years after his absence, Kishi returned to Xiang. Seeing the nanny when he was young, Kishi Ying and his sister-in-law hugged and cried.

Knowing that sun sister-in-law's husband had died and her only daughter was still in the countryside, Shore Ying immediately took out more than 10 yuan and asked sun sister-in-law to take her daughter Sun Yan to Changsha.

Mao Anying lived in Changsha for a month, and during that time, Sun Yan became his tail. Wherever Kishi Ying went, Sun Yan followed.

Sun Yan, the daughter of the granddaughter-in-law, "On Grandma Yang's birthday, there were many people, and Shore Ying was on the steps, like making a report, listening to Shore Ying, people are not born bitter, you must be active." I stood at the door and waited for him for a long time, and when I saw him come back, I was very happy, and I also complained a little, why did you come back for so long, he said I sent them to tell them some truths about land reform. When I was so young, I knew what policies, and I felt that he was the best person in the world, so good to the poor. ”

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

Since then, the United Front Work Department of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee has given Sun Sister-in-law 20 yuan a month for living expenses, and the price at that time was low, and 20 yuan could buy 200 kilograms of rice. Sister-in-law Sun wrote a letter to Kishi Ying and thanked him. On August 19 of that year, Sister-in-law Sun received a four-page letter from Kishi Ying, saying: "You thanked me in your letter, and you definitely did not dare to be... This is your honor twenty years ago, in the face of the enemy's threat, in the enemy's prison, beaten and unyielding. ”

In the days to come, Sun Yan often flipped through the calendar and snapped her fingers, hoping for The return of Brother Kishi Ying.

Years later, she learned that five months after the separation, Kishi's brother died heroically in the raging fire on the Korean battlefield. That trip to his hometown to lay his mother was the only time he stood in front of his mother's grave.

Sister-in-law: A story between a farm nanny and an owner

A letter from Kishi Ying to his sister-in-law

Kishi's sacrifice was a painful blow to Sister-in-law Sun. In those few days, she did not eat or sleep, washed her face with tears all day, thought of Shore Ying's painful childhood, and thought of Yang Kaihui's deathbed instructions to her before her sacrifice, Sun Sister-in-law felt pain in her heart.

In 1982, when Sun Yan was dying before her death, the last words I said to my daughter Sun Yan were, I am leaving, I am going to see Kaihui.

Chairman Mao and his sister-in-law met in June 1957. At this time, it was exactly 30 years since he left home to go to the autumn harvest uprising. When the old people met, the chairman said: "You and Kaihui share weal and woe, and seeing you today is like seeing Kaihui." You will be my family from now on. ”

Remembrance is like water, and the feelings are deep. In the 1950s and 1960s, Chairman Mao wrote ten letters to his mother and daughter-in-law, met his sister-in-law four times in Zhongnanhai, and twice received his granddaughter Sun Yan. In 1962, when Mrs. Yang died, the chairman sent 500 yuan for the funeral, and also sent 500 yuan to his sister-in-law.

Today, the era of bloody rain and wind has long passed, and it seems to have become a wisp of light smoke. But history should not be forgotten, the details of history, we try to dig for you.
