On October 17, 1967, Puyi died of illness at the age of 61, and how to deal with his body became a major problem, and finally they adopted the advice of Premier Zhou: according to the specifications of the Ai Xin Jue Luo family, the initiative was controlled by his family.

Puyi was born in 1906 in the Palace of Prince Alcohol in Beijing, and in that turbulent era, his life was destined to be full of ups and downs.
In 1908, at the age of 3, he officially ascended the throne at the Taihe Temple and became the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, with the era name "Xuantong".

For many emperors in China, the construction of the mausoleum is a crucial thing, not only requires a lot of manpower and financial resources, but also the overall design is a major problem, such as the Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum as we know it, from the beginning of the construction to the completion, it takes at least several decades to complete.
As the emperor of the Qing Dynasty, Puyi should choose the mausoleum site as soon as possible, but due to the turmoil of the situation, his throne has been unstable, and even coerced into abdicating, and the matter of choosing the mausoleum site has been delayed and no one has mentioned it again.
In such a situation, the lives of the common people can be described as miserable, and at this time, a new idea has sprouted in their hearts, allowing Puyi to restore the throne again, and even the choice of the mausoleum site is once again on the agenda.

According to the regulations of the Qing Dynasty, Puyi should be buried in the Qing Xi Mausoleum, and many ministers at that time directly paid for a famous feng shui master to help him.
After choosing the site of the mausoleum, the ministers discussed the follow-up matters together, prepared to hire a large number of craftsmen, and began to build Puyi's mausoleum, but what surprised them was that the war continued to follow, and this major project could only be suspended.
In fact, from many previous situations, it is not difficult for us to know that most of the last emperors did not have a good ending, even if they survived by chance, it is difficult to get personal freedom, and they can only spend the rest of their lives under house arrest, but Puyi is an exception.
During the years-long War of Resistance Against Japan, he not only served as a puppet emperor for the enemy for many years, but also always felt that his scenery was infinite.
In 1945, Japan announced its unconditional surrender, and Puyi at that time could be described as desperate, bent on planning to flee to Japan, but what he did not expect was that he was directly arrested by Soviet airborne troops at Shenyang Airport.
At this time, Puyi's heart was very flustered, he did not dare to imagine what kind of situation he would face after returning to China, whether he would be held responsible, and after thinking about it, he decided to apply to stay in the Soviet Union.
On October 1, 1949, when New China was officially founded, Chairman Mao visited the Soviet Union and directly told Stalin that he wanted to extradite Puyi and others, and when Puyi learned of this news, he immediately felt despair and even thought of ending his life.

However, what Puyi never expected was that after returning to China, not only did he not pursue his responsibility, but Chairman Mao also gave him the opportunity to reform himself, hoping that in the days to come, he would be able to get exercised and do more meaningful things.
At first, Puyi was directly sent to the Fushun War Criminals Management Center, where in addition to his ideological education, he could also exercise his ability to work.
At first, Puyi was very uncomfortable with life here, and even some simple things often sought help from others, and did not get any promotion at all, in such a situation, the administrator had to transfer him to other prisons.
After this, Puyi, who had no help, could only try to do it himself, at that time, not only was the quilt he folded every day completely out of shape, but he didn't even know how to rub it when he washed clothes, during which time Puyi has been in a very embarrassing state, often overwhelmed.

One day, the careful administrator found that the button on Puyi's clothes had long been lost, and even his pants did not know why they were stained with a lot of dirt, so the administrator was very angry, and directly counted him in front of everyone, Puyi felt that his face could not be hung, and after this, he decided to reform himself.
In the following days, Puyi began to learn to enrich himself, not only learned a lot of life skills, but even his labor force is gradually improving, planting vegetables, raising pigs, etc. is not a problem at all, the administrator is very pleased in the eyes, and even Puyi himself feels very happy.
Puyi decided to apply for admission to the medical group, where he worked harder, learned a lot of necessary skills, and could do some simple treatment for them alone, often getting everyone's thanks.

Puyi, who was recognized, was very happy in his heart, he understood the true meaning of labor, and the sense of honor of serving everyone, here he really changed completely, and has formed a very sharp contrast with before.
At the beginning of 1956, the Second National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was successfully held, during which Chairman Mao personally received Puyi's uncle Zaitao, and told him that Puyi's performance over the years was very good, not only read a lot of books, but also improved in all aspects of his ability, hoping that he could take time to take his family to see Puyi more.
After Premier Zhou Enlai learned of this matter, he immediately began to arrange specific matters, and Puyi was very grateful to them.

Before the National Day in 1959, Chairman Mao decided to pardon Puyi, and on December 12 of that year, a "pardon conference" was held at the Fushun War Criminals Management Institute, and Puyi's name was first pronounced by the Supreme Court judges.
Everyone at the scene was very surprised, even Puyi himself couldn't believe it at all, and he was motionless there, letting everyone watch.
Under the re-reminder of his younger brother Pujie, Puyi finally came back to his senses, quickly ran to the stage with an excited mood, took over the amnesty, and after a while Puyi unconsciously reddened his eyes, and even left two lines of tears, he knew that he was really going to usher in a new life this time.

After Puyi was successfully pardoned, he was arranged to live in Beijing, and before the Spring Festival of this year, Premier Zhou decided to entertain Puyi and his family at the CPPCC Auditorium, during which Premier Zhou and Puyi's uncle Zaitao discussed remarriage for him.
In addition, Puyi's work has also become a major problem at the moment, Premier Zhou has been seeking his opinion, after repeated consideration, Puyi thought of working in the Forbidden City, but Premier Zhou did not suggest that due to his previous identity problems, this time back to the Forbidden City, afraid that something would happen.
After that, Puyi thought that he had studied medical care for a period of time, or he would directly engage in this aspect of work, but Premier Zhou still shook his head after listening to it, what he learned there was only some simple skills, and it was probably not appropriate to start directly.
After thinking about it, Premier Zhou suggested that Puyi should first work in the Beijing Botanical Garden for a year, work in the morning, and continue to study in the afternoon, you can rest for a day every Sunday, and the time is at your disposal.

At the beginning of 1962, Chairman Mao personally invited Puyi to dinner at home, and also discussed with him about remarriage and revision of his memoirs, during which Chairman Mao kindly asked: "Is the food still appetizing?" ”

Puyi around a lot of people are also anxious, introduced him to a lot of good girls, but really suitable for him did not, after a period of time, one of his friends happily said to him, there is a very good name Li Shuxian, age 37, stable work, has been a nurse in the hospital.
Li Shuxian's life can also be regarded as a very bumpy, when he was 8 years old, his mother left unexpectedly, even if his father remarried and eventually became a harem, he was often treated coldly, and his life has not been good.

A few years later, Li Shuxian's father also left her, and after coming to Beijing alone, she also experienced several failed marriages, and over the years Li Shuxian only wanted to improve herself.
However, after meeting puyi several times, she was very satisfied with each other, and in the following frequent contacts, the feelings quickly warmed up, and in less than half a year, Puyi decided to put forward to the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference that she wanted to marry Li Shuxian, and Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou were very happy for him.
In April 1962, Puyi and Li Shuxian held a simple wedding at the CPPCC Cultural Club, which was very lively at the time, and many relatives and friends came to send their blessings.
After this, the husband and wife have been soaking with each other, as long as Puyi has time, they will definitely go to pick up Li Shuxian from work, and Li Shuxian's care for Puyi is also in the eyes of everyone, very loving and happy.
For a while, in order to be able to complete the memoir, Puyi devoted almost all of his time to it, until 1964, Puyi's autobiography "The First Half of My Life" was officially completed, which detailed the whole process of his complete change from the time he ascended the throne until he completely changed.
At the end of this year, Puyi became a member of the Fourth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, when he was wearing a neat Zhongshan suit, his heart was very excited, looking at the certificate of attendance at the meeting, almost shed tears, he not only got the attention of the leaders, but also the real recognition of the people.
Although Puyi can be completely changed and is closely related to the care of the party, his own efforts and firmness are also indispensable.

In the autumn of 1964, Puyi began to frequently have symptoms of blood in the urine, and his wife Li Shuxian was very anxious after learning of this situation, and took him to the hospital for examination at the first time, but what was unexpected was that Puyi at that time had already suffered from uremia.
After Premier Zhou learned of this matter, he immediately arranged for experts in this area to go to consultation, and specially advised that he must do his best to treat it, after this, although Puyi's condition has been effectively alleviated, it is still very difficult to completely cure it.

Under the torment of illness, Puyi gradually lost weight, and his wife Li Shuxian was very distressed in her eyes and has been accompanied by meticulous care.
On October 17, 1967, Puyi died of illness at the age of 61, after which how to dispose of his body became a major problem.
Puyi's wife, Li Shuxian, certainly did not dare to make a decision on her husband's affairs, and later the CPPCC National Committee directly reported it to Premier Zhou, who decided: Whether Puyi's body was cremated and the selection of the cemetery were all in accordance with the family specifications of Ai Xinjueluo.
In addition, Premier Zhou also specially instructed the relevant departments to return all the manuscript fees paid by Puyi before his death to his wife Li Shuxian, and also helped solve some problems in her life.
After this, the Ai Xin Jue Luo family began to discuss Puyi's aftermath, and they unanimously decided to keep a low profile and simplify, the memorial service would not be held for the time being, and the remains would be directly cremated.
Puyi's family held a small farewell ceremony in the hospital, Li Shuxian could not help but shed tears again, these days she has not slept a good night, it seems that the whole person is very haggard, and the naked eye can see a lot of weight loss.

On October 19, Puyi's body was cremated in Babaoshan, but I don't know why the news was leaked, and many people came to see him one after another, just to see his last side, Puyi's ashes were directly stored in the side room of the columbaria of the Babaoshan People's Cemetery.
It was not until the summer of 1980 that Puyi's memorial service was finally held in the CPPCC Auditorium, when a total of more than 400 people arrived at the scene, which can be said to be highly valued, and when the memorial service ended smoothly, Puyi's urn was transferred to the first room of the Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery.
Although Puyi's memorial service was many years late, it has not been forgotten, and even the front of his urn reads "CppcC National Committee member Ai Xinjueluo Puyi", which also means that everyone recognizes him.

In 1995, the Qing Royal Cemetery received a succession of investment from merchants, the cemetery itself is commercial in nature, but also close to the Qing Xi Mausoleum, in order to let more people know, they directly found Puyi's wife Li Shuxian.
After a period of exchange, Li Shuxian decided to move Puyi's ashes out of Babaoshan and bury them in the Hualong Park of the Imperial Cemetery of the Qing Dynasty, which is very close to the tomb of the Guangxu Emperor, only more than two hundred meters, although there is only one wall between them, but it is also two completely different cemeteries.
After this, the tombs of Puyi's former empress Wanrong and his concubine Tan Yuling also moved to both sides of Puyi's cemetery, and Li Shuxian chose to be buried in Babaoshan after leaving.
