Takeshi-Mizuyama's movement actually contributed very little to the Meiji Restoration, but as the only person in Japanese history who successfully used the "three characters to cut the abdomen", he was very eye-catching in that period of history. Later generations of Japanese people also praised him for his "high purity" and called him "magnificent". A huge statue of him was erected in his hometown, and in the fourteenth year of Meiji, the tablet of Takeshi-Seosan was enshrined at the Jingguni Shrine.
