Lenovo, which has frequently invested in semiconductor companies in recent years, set up its own chip company on Wednesday.
Enterprise investigation shows that on January 26, the name of Dingdao Zhixin (Shanghai) Semiconductor Co., Ltd. was formally established, the company is 100% owned by Lenovo, with a total registered capital of 300 million yuan, and its business scope includes integrated circuit design and sales, software and hardware development and sales.

It is reported that the establishment of a semiconductor company, Lenovo or will focus on the development of tablets and PC processor chips, in line with Apple M1.
Prior to this, Lenovo and the integrated circuit industry have had a lot of intersection. Its three major investment companies, Lenovo Venture Capital, Lenovo Star and Legend Capital, have invested in 23 chip companies in the industry, including Cambrian, Stepway, Spreadtrum Communications, BYD Semiconductor, and Lingming Photonics.
Lenovo also launched the LA2 intelligent embedded controller product at the Lenovo Science and Technology Innovation Conference in September 2021, which once triggered a hot discussion in the industry.
Earlier, Lenovo chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing said at a lenovo financial report that the possibility of self-developed chips is not ruled out, nor is it ruled out that cooperation is possible.
Today, Lenovo has bet 300 million yuan to set up a semiconductor company, which seems to be ready for self-developed chips. (Leifeng Network)
