Recently, Samsung's Galaxy device was hacked, and about 200GB of data information and source code were leaked. This includes confidential data from partner Qualcomm, while also leaving hundreds of millions of Galaxy device users in a highly insecure situation.
Samsung also quickly issued a statement, pointing out that this data breach does not include users of Samsung mobile phones, related business and customers will not be affected, and has immediately taken measures to prevent hackers from invading such things from happening again, apologizing to the public and continuing to provide services.
However, some industry insiders believe that the impact on Samsung this time may not be as insignificant as it said in the statement. It is reported that Lapsus$ divided the data obtained by the intrusion into three compressed packages, which were downloaded by the outside world through the ad-hoc network, and shared the leaked content with more than 400 peers, and also said that more servers would be deployed to improve download speed. And Lapsus$ shared nearly 190GB of data this time.
As of February 2019, Samsung Galaxy sales have exceeded 2 billion, in this data breach, there will be a large number of Galaxy code will be exposed, which will lead to Galaxy devices by network attacks or virus intrusion, and Qualcomm, which cooperates with it, also said that it will act quickly to ensure the security of its data.

A few days ago, Samsung failed to compete with TSMC and lost NVIDIA's 7nm process CPU order. Low in February this year, Samsung was exposed for counterfeiting 5nm chip yield, and the yield of snapdragon 4nm chip produced by it was only 35%! This disappointed Qualcomm and transferred the oem order for the new Snapdragon 8Gen1Plus to TSMC for production.
Analysts pointed out that the decline in yield means that the production capacity of the foundry chips produced by Samsung cannot be improved, and the cost is also increased, which not only affects the profit of the enterprise, but also reduces the confidence of customers. If Samsung really can't do it well, it is likely to be at a disadvantage in the competition with TSMC and lose its advantage.
In the current global "chip shortage", Samsung did not grasp this good time to make money.
