Moles exist more or less in everyone's body, and in most cases, moles affect the appearance at most and will not bring any harm to health.
However, if the mole grows in some special area or suddenly changes, it is necessary to be vigilant, because even if it is just an ordinary mole, it may become cancerous.
The cancerous nevus is clinically known as "melanoma", which is the most malignant skin tumor and can seriously threaten the life of patients.
So, where are moles that grow likely to become cancerous?
1. Parts that are prone to friction
If a mole grows in the palm of the human body, the sole of the foot, near the anus, the part where the belt is tied, etc., it is more likely to become cancerous because it is easily rubbed and stimulated in life.
Data show that about 50% of the more common types of melanoma in the mainland are distributed at the ends of the limbs, so if you find black moles in the palms of your hands, the soles of your feet, etc., you must pay more attention.
2. Areas that are often exposed to the sun
If the human body's pigmented nevi is exposed to too much ultraviolet radiation, it may also become cancerous, and the head and neck are more exposed, which is more likely to occur due to sunlight exposure.
3. The part that has been traumatized
Clinically, the primary lesion of some melanoma patients has previously had a history of trauma such as crushing and smashing, and the pigmentation of these traumatized sites has not disappeared for a long time, and some cells in the skin repair process are likely to undergo malignant changes and form melanoma.
The probability of cancer in the above parts of the mole is higher, especially if the mole in these parts has the following manifestations, be sure to go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible:
1. Asymmetrical shape
The shape of a common mole is mostly regular elliptical or round, and the sides are symmetrical, but if it is melanoma, its shape is mostly irregular, and the sides of the mole are asymmetrical.
2, the edge is not smooth
The edges of ordinary moles are smooth and clearly demarcated from the surrounding skin, while melanoma has irregular edges, map-like or serrated, with blurred boundaries with the surrounding skin.
3, the color is uneven
Ordinary moles are mostly uniform brown or black, if it is melanoma, it can be mixed with a variety of colors, such as black mixed with red, blue, etc., and the color can be deepened in a short time, or the mole fades in a short time.
4. The size changes suddenly
Ordinary mole size generally does not change significantly, and the diameter is generally not more than 5 mm, but if it is melanoma, it may increase rapidly in a short period of time, and its diameter can exceed 6 mm.
5. Discomfort
Ordinary moles generally do not have obvious discomfort, if the mole suddenly becomes rough, or there is itching, ulceration, bleeding, pain and other manifestations, to cause vigilance, this is likely to be a malignant change in the mole.
6. Small black spots appear around the mole
If there are suddenly some small moles or small black spots around the mole, accompanied by lymphadenopathy, this phenomenon is also a signal of melanoma, which means that cancer cells are dividing and expanding, and such moles must cause a high degree of vigilance.
In short, most of the moles on the skin are benign and will not bring any harm to health, but if they grow in some areas that are prone to friction or are prone to sunlight and traumatized areas, it is necessary to pay more attention.
In particular, if the color, shape, and size of the moles in these areas change in a short period of time, you must go to the hospital in time to exclude melanoma and avoid missing the best time for treatment of the disease.
