"Writers and literary workers should regard 'leading social trends, promoting virtue and forging souls' as a firm political responsibility and a sacred professional mission." At the symposium on the construction of professional ethics and work style of literary and art workers of the Hunan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the second plenary meeting of the Professional Ethics Construction Committee held on September 7, Wang Yuewen, vice chairman of the Hunan Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and chairman of the Hunan Provincial Writers Association, spoke on the construction of professional ethics for writers and literary workers. He said that as a writer in the new era, he should not only adhere to the people-centered creative orientation, but also carry forward the healthy and elegant literary trend.

Wang Yuewen held that to strengthen the building of professional ethics among writers and literary workers, on the one hand, it is necessary to strengthen the study of political theory and ensure the unity of character, literary character, and professional ethics; on the other hand, it is necessary to adhere to artistic ideals and always adhere to the people-centered creative orientation; moreover, writers and literary workers should write their own character and morality while writing literary works.

Wang Yuewen said: Strengthening the building of professional ethics among writers and artists is not only the party's political requirement for writers and artists, but also the need for the building of their own quality. The professional ethics of a writer determines who to write for and how to write, and the character determines the quality of the text. If the character, literary and professional ethics are contradictory, their works are doubtful. Works see character, words and deeds see morality.

From Qu Yuan, Jia Yi, Tao Yuanming, Li Bai, Du Fu, Bai Juyi, Liu Zongyuan, Su Dongpo, Guan Hanqing, and Cao Xueqin in ancient times, to Lu Xun, Mao Dun, Ba Jin, Lao She, Cao Yu, Zhou Libo, Liu Qing, Lu Yao, Chen Zhongzhong, and so on in ancient times, Wang Yuewen listed many literary giants in Chinese history on the spot, and said that these people with high standard personality and noble morality are all examples for writers in the new era to learn.

"Be cautious and diligent, always a section." Chen Tingjing, the protagonist of the long historical novel "The Great Qing Xiangguo", has been evaluated in history. Wang Yuewen, who wrote the novel, said that he quoted these eight characters as admonitions to encourage himself and made an interpretation that kept pace with the times:

"The so-called scrupulousness means abiding by the rules, knowing the guard against fear, and understanding reverence, especially in the practice of affirming literary values and literary creation, not only stressing pioneering and innovating, but also following the middle way; the so-called prudence means that we are not afraid of the food in times of emergency, and we always hold on to the heart of being deep and thin; the so-called purity is to be innocent in the face of fame and fortune and sober in the face of right and wrong; the so-called diligence is to not slacken off in work and creation, and to sink down and work hard. The so-called 'always one section' means that we must always adhere to the creative orientation of being the center of the people and strive to dedicate beautiful spiritual food to the people. ”
