Before I answer this question, I would like to ask you one thing, that is, some time ago, there was a person named Meng Man, who was a professor at the Central University for Nationalities and a part-time vice chairman of the China Women's Federation, and she went from Guangxi to Yunnan on the border, and there were 24 martyr cemeteries on the border. Because I didn't see the relevant reports and her articles, pictures, videos mentioning these. She is a scholar known for her nationality and culture, and has long been engaged in explaining popular programs on history, culture, and borders. I think she should stop by the martyrs' cemetery on the border when she walks through the border pass. In particular, most of the 24 martyrs' cemeteries on the border of Yunnan in Guangxi are buried in the martyrs who died in the Sino-Vietnamese border war, and it is said that the number is at least 10,000. The Sino-Vietnamese border war was the closest our country has ever been to today. It's a pity that I didn't see her walk into a martyr's cemetery on the border of Guangxi and Yunnan, maybe she has considered it, and will arrange time to study the martyrs in these martyrs' cemeteries in detail in the future.
So now let's talk about the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery. The Malipo Martyrs Cemetery is four kilometers north of Malipo County, Wenshan Prefecture, Yunnan Province, and one kilometer south of the headquarters of the 15 th Frontier Regiment of our former army. The Malipo Martyrs Cemetery is buried in the Malipo County in the territory of Koulin Mountain, Laoshan, Balihe Dongshan and other early sacrifices of the martyrs, because the martyrs who died in the later round battle troops were arranged to return to their hometowns for burial. They come from 19 provinces and cities, 19 nationalities, most of them are eighteen or nineteen years old, the youngest is 16 years old, and the oldest is only 35 years old.

Some of them are comrades-in-arms of the martyrs, that is, those who lived and died with these sacrificed martyrs in those years, and this comrade-in-arms includes both comrades-in-arms in the same trench and comrades-in-arms of veterans who participated in the war. There will be sacrifices in battle, and as soon as the guns go off, no one knows who will fall and who will live. Naturally, this living person does not forget the one who sacrificed.
The second part is the family of the martyrs, first of all, the parents of the martyrs, then the brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces of the martyrs, and very rarely, the widows of the martyrs. The war has severed family affection, and the pain here is difficult to express in words. However, in the early years, due to the busy war, because of the closed information, and because of the restrictions of economic conditions, some martyrs sacrificed for many years, and their families did not go to see the martyrs. The family of the martyr Zhao Zhanying is a typical example. Because there was no travel fee, the martyr's mother lived in the suburbs of Kunming, only more than 400 kilometers away from the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery, but waited 20 years to go to the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery to sweep the martyrs' graves. Later, when the conditions were good, some of the martyrs' parents, children, or grandchildren organized 19 people to visit the martyrs' graves.
The third part is the Laoshan love volunteers. These people include people who are almost the same age or younger than the martyrs in Malipo, Wenshan, Yunnan, veterans who participated in the war, and ordinary people who have not participated in the war, such as Zhu Xiaomin of the Jiayi Photo Studio in Malipo, etc., they are people who grew up watching border battles, and they will never forget the people who sacrificed their lives to defend the peace and tranquility of the border and defend the territorial integrity of the country; It also includes not in Malipo, not in Wenshan, not in Yunnan, not caring people, they are moved by the martyrs who sacrificed, moved by the love volunteers of Laoshan, and also asked to join them, more typical is Chongqing's electric power worker Ran Liang, when the Malipo love volunteer activities can not participate, they all take the initiative to express their hearts in other ways, and also invite everyone to watch the movie, but also pay for everyone's activities.
The fourth part is the teachers and students of schools in Wenshan Prefecture and other border areas in Yunnan, who walked into the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery to carry out patriotic education, continue the red gene, and inherit the heroic spirit, which is the eternal theme of revolutionary traditional education.
This year is the year of the 40 th anniversary of the Laoshan Operation, and the scale, batch, and number of people who went to the Malipo Martyrs' Cemetery in Yunnan to pay respects to the martyrs this year are all relatively large in recent years, but the participants are still mainly from the above four groups.
But most of these veterans are now in their 60s, and the parents of the martyrs are already over 80 years old. Maybe I won't have more time to go to Malipo in the future. Most of the Laoshan volunteers have lived around the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery for a long time, and may continue to insist on paying tribute to the martyrs in the future.
And the brothers and sisters of those martyrs, I think that when their parents have passed away, they will rarely enter the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery. In addition to their own business, but also because they are limited in all aspects. I won't go into details here, but I'll just give a few examples: A few of the martyrs' younger brothers or nephews went to the Malipo Martyrs' Cemetery in Yunnan Province, and they all had contact with me before, but then they went to Malipo but closed the news to me, and they couldn't even send photos. Why? In some places, they were told to keep quiet, fearing that the families of the martyrs would go to visit the martyrs, and the localities would increase the reimbursement of travel expenses. Therefore, it seems that there will be fewer families of martyrs in the future!
How many people still promote Laoshan and the spirit of Laoshan?
Speaking of which, the spirit of Laoshan is the same spiritual wealth as the spirit of Jinggangshan and the spirit of Yan'an, because the spirit of Laoshan is the spirit of not being afraid of hardship, death and loss for the country, and the essence is the spirit of sacrifice and dedication, but in fact, it is not enough to publicize the spirit of Laoshan now.
The first thing I know is that some propaganda celebrities or combat heroes are promoting the spirit of Laoshan, such as 72-year-old Cai Chaodong, who is either promoting heroes or martyrs on the way to publicize heroes, so far he has made more than 5,000 reports, with a large-scale audience of tens of thousands of people; There is also Zang Lei, the commander of the main attack battalion of Laoshan, who is also nearly 70 years old, and he still has combat shrapnel on his body, and he has walked into the Malipo Martyrs Cemetery more than 70 times with crutches to pay tribute to the martyrs, and has traveled more than 100,000 kilometers to all parts of the country to make reports; Then there is the battle hero Shi Guangzhu, both eyes are blind, and they are still promoting heroic martyrs; Then there are the first-class heroes of the Laoshan Battle, disabled soldiers Liu Haiyang and Wang Shuguang; There are also first-class meritorious heroes Hu Guoqiao, Mao Yuliang, the honorary winner of the "Outstanding Sons and Daughters of the Frontier" who has received many meritorious service awards, and Zhong Huiling, the first-class meritorious hero of "Battlefield Model Health Worker", etc., and some other self-media people such as "Ten Years of Southern Xinjiang Fengyanzheng", "Soldier Talk", etc., as well as some public accounts "Reflecting Laoshan", "Heroic Banner", "Heroic Battle Song", etc., are promoting the spirit of Laoshan, publicizing heroic deeds, and publicizing veterans who participated in the war.
I'm thinking that most of the above people are people of a certain age, and when they are older, they will not be able to do what they want. This year, after 40 years of fighting in Laoshan, large-scale activities have decreased, and I estimate that there will be fewer people going to the Malipo Martyrs' Cemetery, and the frequency of propaganda will also be less.
Now that Sino-Vietnamese relations are friendly, Sino-Vietnamese friendship will last forever, and the general trend has changed, and the propaganda direction involving the Sino-Vietnamese War and the heroic martyrs has also changed, but I think that the war must not be forgotten, history must not be forgotten, and the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives must not be forgotten. This is what history is. Without the war and sacrifice of the past, there would be no peace and happiness today! I repeat here a sentence that veterans who often praise the heroes and martyrs: It is the body that has fallen and the territory of the republic that has been carried.
For our country to be strong and our nation to be prosperous, we must remain sober-minded and never forget those who sacrificed their lives for the republic!
