In order to accelerate the transformation of agricultural scientific and technological achievements, give full play to the core role of excellent varieties in increasing agricultural production and income, screen and promote excellent wheat varieties, reduce the risk of production seeds, and ensure national food security, in 2023-2024, the seed station of our city will strengthen scientific and technological leadership, accelerate the transformation of agricultural scientific and technological achievements, and cooperate with the Lingtai County Seed Management Bureau to carry out the display and evaluation of new winter wheat varieties, screen and promote excellent wheat varieties, and play the role of "chips" in agricultural production and income. Ensure the city's winter wheat production, select good seeds, and use good seeds.
During the autumn sowing period last year, a demonstration and evaluation point of new winter wheat varieties was established in Guojia Laozhuang Village, Shizi Town, Lingtai County, covering an area of 11 acres, and 24 varieties such as "Lantian Series", "Longmai Series", "Longjian Series", "Lingxuan Series", "Lingmai Series" and "Longyuan 235", "Lanhangxuan 122", "Xinong 895" and "Yannong 21" were planted. Each variety display area is about 0.5 acres, all varieties are randomly arranged, no duplication, each display variety is unified sowing at the end of September last year, scientific field management, in strict accordance with the standard requirements to complete the survey record and test seed production.
In the critical season of winter wheat production, the Municipal Seed Station organized experts inside and outside the city to evaluate and analyze the adaptability, stress resistance, high yield, commerciality and other characteristics of varieties, and organized agricultural cooperatives, seed dealers, and large planters to carry out field observation, guide the local people to see the selection of seeds, and accelerate the pace of upgrading new varieties. Through the improvement of the display demonstration and evaluation system, the local growers' understanding of wheat varieties has been further improved, and a number of excellent wheat varieties suitable for large-scale promotion and planting in the arid plateau in the eastern part of the city have been screened, giving full play to the radiation and driving role of the display and demonstration of new varieties.
