A thousand-year-old tree, podocarpus
In my hometown, there is a thousand-year-old podocarpus tree on the campus of the primary school, which has witnessed my mulberry elm from childhood to the present year. For as long as I can remember, this podocarpus has been what it is today, hollow, with a cracked trunk and lush greenery.
At the beginning of liberation, this podocarpus has been located in the courtyard of the ancestral hall of the Cheng clan, and the ancestral hall was later used as a school building for the primary school. In 1952, I entered this ancestral hall and began my school days. Back then, children would go into the hole of the podocarpus tree to play, which could accommodate three children.
In the course of the changing times, the ancestral hall was demolished, and later, the first school buildings were demolished in 2016 to build a new elementary school. No matter how your house is demolished, every local leader and school leader will protect the ancient podocarpus, and even the local people will not allow anyone to break a branch.
Legend has it that this ancient podocarpus is a thousand-year-old tree, but it is difficult for ordinary people like me to determine.
This ancient podocarpus has long been recorded in the county annals of this county, and has now been listed for protection.

This ancient podocarpus is more than 10 meters high and about 1.8 meters in diameter. Verdant and vigorous, the sky is cloudy, the branches are bent and vigorous, the momentum is calm, the branches are staggered, the crowns are stacked, and the thick green is like clouds.
The thousand-year-old tree lies in the sky, and the branches and leaves are lush and green.
