And the door handles of the new S also seem to have been changed to semi-hidden.

At the same time, in the design of the front and rear of the car, the design of the Mercedes-Benz S should be greatly adjusted. However, the front and rear parts of the road test car were wrapped in large camouflage, and it was completely impossible to see its true face.

This can also be seen the cautious attitude of Mercedes-Benz officials, after all, the appearance of the current Mercedes-Benz S is too controversial, and its designer has become a "target of public criticism".

2. The shark's head becomes a catfish mouth, and the Korean designer carries the pot

Judging from the design elements of the current Mercedes-Benz S launched in 2021, the designers actually continue many of the old elements of the Mercedes-Benz S-class. For example, the logo, the banner chrome grille and the more rounded but largely identical rear window design of the previous generation can all be seen in many classic Mercedes-Benz elements.

However, in terms of lamp design, the designers of Mercedes-Benz S have adopted a more radical sports style design, although the headlights are rounded, but in order to pursue a sporty sense of headlights, they have adopted a thinner and angled design.

With the "shark mouth" shape on the front face, the rounded headlights not only increase the sense of luxury and business temperament of the vehicle, but make the shark head become a "catfish mouth". The overall effect is a bit awkward.

In terms of rear lamp styling, the sharp, long headlights have a more sporty style, which is superior to the rounded and natural lines of the previous generation.

However, this Li Yihuan previously dominated the exterior design of the second-generation CLS, which was widely acclaimed, and this car was even called "the most beautiful Mercedes-Benz" by some car enthusiasts.

Whether it is the slender, smooth body, or the sharp and elegant "devil's eye" taillights, the Mercedes-Benz CLS has achieved a certain degree of personalization and relatively extreme stylization while continuing the family elements, even after more than ten years, the appearance of this car still does not look outdated.

Due to the oversuccess of the exterior design of the second-generation CLS by Li Yihuan, it is difficult to surpass the third-generation CLS even if it is designed by Mercedes-Benz veteran designer Gordon Wagner. The CLS model was eventually cut by Mercedes-Benz because of poor sales.
