Fast Technology reported on June 28 that according to the official release of BYD Auto, on June 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev visited BYD's Uzbekistan factory, and witnessed the official launch of the first batch of mass-produced new energy vehicles in BYD's Uzbekistan factory, Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition, together with Yu Jun, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in Uzbekistan, Wang Chuanfu, Chairman and President of BYD, and Li Ke, Executive Vice President.

Wang Chuanfu said that the start of mass production of BYD's Uzbekistan factory will accelerate the green transformation of local transportation, and at the same time, the signing of the green transportation cooperation initiative will demonstrate BYD's firm commitment to environmentally friendly travel, and in the future, BYD will continue to promote the development of new energy vehicles in the entire Central Asian region with innovative technologies.

It is reported that BYD's Uzbekistan plant is located in Jizzakh Oblast, and the completion of the plant is an important milestone after BYD and Uzavtosanoat JSC (UzAuto) announced a joint venture in December 2022.

The first phase plans to produce two hot-selling plug-in hybrid models, namely the Song PLUS DM-i Champion Edition and the Destroyer 05 Champion Edition, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units in the first phase to meet the sales needs of the Central Asian market, and 300,000 units after the completion of the third phase.

In addition to the vehicle plant, BYD has also signed a joint venture agreement with UzAuto in the local area and established a joint venture company that will focus on the production of new energy vehicles and related parts.
