High wear-resistant high-alloy powder steel

ASSAB ASP30 mould steel is a high-strength, high-wear-resistant, high-performance powder high speed steel from ASSAB's ASSAB mould steel range in Sweden, which has very good temper resistance and high compressive strength at high hardness. The combination of high wear resistance and rare good compressive strength makes ASSAB ASP30 ideal for heavy-duty forming cold work moulds.

ASP30 Mold Steel Characteristics

ASP30 is a high-alloy powder high speed steel from ASSAB's tool steel series in Sweden, which has the following characteristics:

(1) It has high wear resistance;

(2) High compressive strength under high hardness;

(3) Good overall hardenability;

(4) Good toughness;

(5) Good dimensional stability of heat treatment;

(6) Good grinding and machinability;

(7) Very good tempering resistance.

ASP30 mold steel heat treatment process

(1) Softening annealing process:

The annealing temperature is softened at 850~900 °C under a protective atmosphere, cooled to 700 °C at a cold rate of 10 °C/h in the furnace, and then air-cooled.

(2) Stress relief process:

After rough machining, the mold should be heated to 600~700 °C as a whole, kept warm for 2 hours, slowly cooled to 500 °C, and then air cooled.

(3) Quenching process:

Temperature: 450~500°C, 850~900°C, Occupiation: 1050~1180°C,

The final hardness is the hardness of ASSAB powder high speed steel ASP30 after being kept at 560°C for 1 hour and tempered 3 times.

Note: Holding time = austenitizing temperature, the time after the mold is completely heated.

(4) Tempering process:

Regardless of the austenitization temperature used, it must be tempered at 560 °C, and tempered 3 times, each tempered for at least 1 hour, must be cooled to room temperature after each tempering, and the residual austenite content after three tempering should be less than 1%.
