The updated area is located in the jurisdiction of Zhangjiawan Street, Hongshan District, with Xinwu Jindi Road to the west, Baishazhou Avenue to the east, Baisha 2nd Road to the south, and Jiangsheng Road to the north, involving 8 communities including Sanqiao Community, with a land area of about 260.99 hectares (3,915 acres).

The Baishazhou area is one of the only remaining concentrated development potential areas on the four banks of the two rivers in Wuhan. In June 2023, the Hongshan District People's Government joined hands with the Municipal Urban Investment Group Corporation to establish Wuhan Baisha Binjiang New Town Investment and Development Co., Ltd., aiming to effectively improve the living life of the area through the cooperation in the implementation of the Baisha Binjiang Industrial City Urban Renewal Project.
