Recently, 27 live crabs intercepted by the gate customs under Gongbei Customs at Gongbei Port have been identified by the laboratory as Siberian hermit crabs.
At about 20 o'clock on June 5, Cai, a woman from the mainland, entered the country through the "undeclared channel" of the customs in the passenger inspection hall of Gongbei Port. The on-site customs officer found that the white shopping bag he was carrying had not passed the machine inspection, and deliberately blended into the crowd of customs clearance in an attempt to evade customs inspection, so he intercepted him. Upon further inspection, 27 live crabs in white net pockets were seized from the shopping bag he was carrying, and the passenger was unable to provide a valid quarantine approval certificate.
Identified by the Gongbei Customs Technology Center, the batch of live hermit crabs is the Siberian land hermit crab, mostly distributed in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, with a large body size, the maximum body length of more than 7 cm, strong feet, the body color is usually red, peach, there is no natural distribution in the mainland, it is an alien species.
Customs reminds: According to the mainland's "Biosecurity Law", "Law on the Quarantine of Animals and Plants Entering and Leaving the Country" and their implementing regulations, foreign species shall not be introduced without approval, and it is forbidden to carry or deliver live animals into the country. In case of violation of the regulations, the customs will investigate the legal responsibility in accordance with the law.
