On June 29, a series of explosions occurred in a warehouse stacked with fireworks and firecrackers in Zamboanga City, Philippines, killing five people and injuring dozens more.
Engineers at the Zamboanga City office of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the explosion was so powerful that it affected a radius of 1.14 kilometers, and the residential buildings and commercial facilities near the warehouse were severely damaged.
