In 2019, two amateur divers dived in the waters off Spain. Suddenly, one of them pointed ahead and signaled: "Look! What is that! "I saw that in the mud of the seabed, there seemed to be a boat parked with hundreds of strange bottles on board.

This scene took place in the shallow sea near Mallorca in the Spanish Mediterranean. At that time, shortly after a storm, two divers were diving at a depth of 2.4 meters. Unexpectedly, they made amazing discoveries there.

Mallorca is a small resort island that is visited by many people every year. The most valuable thing is that the sea water near the island is excellent, which is a paradise for diving enthusiasts.

Soon, the local government learned of the discovery of a shipwreck on the seabed and immediately sent experts to Mallorca. This time, it was two professional divers who descended to the bottom of the sea, who took the clearest pictures of the wreck up close with their underwater cameras.

It was indeed an old wooden shipwreck. There is a lot of silt and various marine life attached to it. The wreck's side was completely decayed and could not be seen. However, the contours of the hull are still clear.

Experts believe that because of this storm, the shipwreck buried deep in the mud has been rediscovered. Divers found 300 sealed clay pots or amphorae on this ship. Take one of the samples to the shore.

After research, people were surprised to find that it contained fish sauce made from anchovies. Olive oil and wine, among others, were found in other bottles. In addition to this, coins, ropes, shoes, wooden drills, and organic "pads" or mats made from vine buds and grass were found.

Experts also sampled the hull and carried out carbon 14 dating, and believed that the wooden ship was dated to the Roman era 1,700 years ago.

And so a picture emerges: a merchant ship loaded with fish sauce, olive oil and wine sailing from Spain to Rome in 320 AD. It was sunk by a storm near Mallorca, and the wreck was quickly covered by silt.

More than 1,700 years later, the shipwreck was accidentally discovered by two divers and was rediscovered. I don't know if the fish sauce, olive oil and wine in these bottles will be edible.
