In Tongguan County, Shaanxi Province, the village doctor Liu Yongsheng is very famous, and the local people call him 120, a divine doctor, and a benefactor. In the spring and summer of 42 years, this village doctor wearing a white coat, round face, big eyes, and sparse hair slept at night, was on call, treated patients as relatives, and won the praise of local residents.
Sijiaoying Village is located in the northeast of Tongguan County, north of the Yellow River, across the river from Shanxi, there is a ditch adjacent to Henan in the east, Qinling in the south, and a ditch connected to the county seat in the west. Liu Yongsheng said that during his sophomore year of high school, he studied traditional Chinese medicine for 35 days at the Tongguan County Port Hospital and mastered techniques and skills such as injection and first aid. In 1976, when Liu Yongsheng graduated from high school, there was no doctor in the village, and the village committee decided to make him a hygienist.
On the morning of February 28, there were already four or five patients in the health room, Liu Yongsheng examined the patients one by one, his wife Wang Banghua distributed drugs in the pharmacy, and his son Liu Bo was pricking a hanging needle for a middle-aged male patient... This "small hospital", everything is in order. As usual, this period of time in the morning is liu Yongsheng's busiest time.
"I can only say that I have a slight understanding of medical theory, and I have learned to treat people from practice." Since Liu Yongsheng became a barefoot doctor, he has studied hard, learned the treatment methods of various common diseases, caught mice and sparrows to practice hand feeling, and found acupuncture points in himself and his lover. "It hurts to prick yourself, this pain is nothing, the people (needles) are not familiar with the technique, he hurts even more." If I suffer a little more, I will let the masses suffer less. Today, he has installed WeChat on his mobile phone to facilitate communication with peers and experts. Studying hard has enabled him to master acupuncture, cupping, can walking, fire needles, massage and other techniques.
Every day, no matter what time he was busy, he would leave some time to take notes, cut down the secret recipe in the newspaper, and write down the experience of the examination and follow-up consultation. Over the past 42 years, these notes have accumulated more than 70 copies and become his "treasure chest". He has repeatedly practiced and perfected each therapy, forming his own unique combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, allowing patients to spend a small amount of money to treat major diseases.
In the afternoon, Liu Yongsheng came to the home of Wang Wencao in Bei xiema village more than ten miles away, Wang Wencao's eldest son Wang Xiaobin suffered from schizophrenia, and he had not yet started a family at the age of 42 this year, and his second son Xiong Lili suffered from forced spondylitis, and his life has been very difficult. Liu Yongsheng took the two babies to Shanxi to Dali to see a doctor, spending his own money, in order to make the family's life better, a few years ago, Liu Yongsheng spent 20,000 yuan to buy a second-hand car for Lili to run transportation.
In the 42 years of working as a village doctor, Liu Yongsheng has received more than 100,000 patients and visited nearly 10,000 times. Not only nearby villagers, but also people from neighboring Henan, Shanxi and other places have also come to seek medical treatment. In order to treat the masses, he has advanced nearly 50,000 yuan, and the medical expenses owed on credit amount to more than 200,000 yuan, but he has never asked anyone for an account, and even took the initiative to destroy the account book.
Liu Yongsheng said he could not see any "poor person" in the village suffering. He provided free medical treatment for the disabled villagers, he bought agricultural machinery for them out of his own pocket to develop production, he advanced funds for them to engage in commercial business, and he gave his own farmland to the villagers to cultivate for free, and these people did not have anything to do with him. Twenty-seven years ago, in order to help the villagers say that he was a daughter-in-law, Liu Yongsheng gave up his house to the other party in a hurry, and he took a family and moved into the village clinic from a small building.
The tension brought about by high-intensity work pressure, coupled with the lack of effective rest for a long time, has made Liu Yongsheng shake his hands in recent years. After examination, there was no disease, but the shaking of the hands was always present. However, when he rushed to a patient's house, his hand was no longer shaking when he picked up the needle, and his hand was accurately pierced.
The white car, which cost less than 30,000 yuan, was an "ambulance" on the mound, and the driver was Liu Bo, the son of Liu Yongsheng. Over the years, in order to visit the doctor and pick up patients, Liu Bo is almost on standby 24 hours. "My dad went out to see patients who needed to be taken to the hospital, no matter how far away he had to personally escort them, and on several occasions he even sent them to the provincial capital." Liu Bo said. Today, Liu Bo has also chosen to work as a village doctor in Sijiaoying Village, and the father and son have become "colleagues".
Liu Yongsheng has won more than ten honorary titles such as "Excellent Rural Doctor", "Bethune Spirit Award", "Good Man of China", "Model of The Three Qins", etc., and people in Henan, Shanxi and other places have also come to see him. To this end, many people are worried that Liu Yongsheng will leave the clinic, but he said: "The doctor must have medical ethics, I can't let go of my patients, I must insist on staying in the countryside, no matter what others say I am a 'fool' or 'two poles', I am willing, because I want to save the people I want to save, this is the happiest thing in my life." ”
Opening Liu Yongsheng's diary, the diary of the first day of the first month of this year wrote: At about 9 a.m., I suddenly received a phone call, and the 76-year-old Liu Chain suddenly dizzy when he went out, fell to the ground and broke his head, fortunately found by the neighbors. After receiving the call, hurriedly put down the bowl and rushed to bandage, the initial judgment was cerebral hemorrhage, and sent to the hospital for treatment, fortunately found in time, there is no danger to life.
Within a radius of more than a dozen miles, people would greet Liu Yongsheng warmly when they saw him. Many people say that for so many years, Liu Yongsheng has benefited the people, but Liu Yongsheng believes that the villagers have cultivated him, without their trust, understanding and support, without their trust in life, without this thick land, where would he be today? Since 2015, the story of Liu Yongsheng's sincere dedication has infected more and more people, at the end of 2015, Liu Yongsheng Volunteer Service Corps was officially established, and now there are 17 detachments with nearly 1,000 volunteers.
"There are 97 elderly people over the age of 65 in our village, of which 30 are left behind, accounting for almost one-third. Who is the oldest, who has any illness, whose family has difficulties, I have to know clearly. "Liu Yongsheng knows the situation in the village very well." Liu Yongsheng said that choosing to be a township doctor is choosing dedication.
Some people say that Liu Yongsheng is the poorest person in the village, and his family still lives in the health room and lives a life of frugality.
