"With seal engraving as the protagonist and small paintings as interspersed, I hope to bring spatial communication between people and works." Curator Hu Jianjun said.

Seal carving and Chinese painting have reflected each other in traditional Chinese culture for thousands of years, and are now moving towards a broad depth. "The picture and the printed surface see the heavens and the earth between the square inches." Hu Jianjun said, "The theme of this exhibition, 'Printing', is not only the presentation style of calligraphy and painting and seal engraving, but also refers to the artistic imprint of seal engraver Wang Hongding and the painter He Xi. ”

The two artists, also born in the 1960s, have been friends and confidants for many years. Since they met, almost all the seals on He Xi's paintings were engraved by Wang Hongding. The most conspicuous wall in the Dingyuan room of Wang Hongding's studio is hung with He Xi's works.

Wang Hongding's seal carving, based on the Qin and Han dynasties, studied all the schools of the Ming and Qing dynasties and formed his own face. The work is either round and thick or sharp and bright, with a knife that is sharp and unobtrusive, and the overall temperament is warm and simple, and there is movement in the quiet. Among the works in this exhibition, there are theme prints such as "Twenty-four Solar Terms" and "Ancient Ten Elegant", including reading, tasting tea, burning incense, flowers, waiting for the moon, listening to rain, etc., which is also a portrayal of his daily life attitude. In addition, there are also different styles of "Baishou Seal", etc., which are displayed in the form of concave and convex squares, which makes the anning and stable printing surface blend with the contemporary atmosphere.

Some viewers found in the interactive area that there were some small hanging tags of the Zhihe brand displayed here, and the front was He Xi's handwritten graffiti on the basis of the original pattern of the sign. These graffiti brain holes are supplemented by various animals, jumping on the paper, and it is very interesting. On the reverse side is the small seal of "Zhihe" carved by Wang Hongding, which is simple and simple, and is integrated into one.

In addition to the static works, there is also a small video of Wang Hongding's seal engraving process taken by He Xi in the exhibition hall. The black and white picture is accompanied by the sound of the carving knife cutting through the printing stone, quiet and powerful, simple and timeless. "Just like their friendship, it is a record of the years and the golden stone." Hu Jianjun said.
