Peking University People's Hospital Tongzhou Branch opened.
On December 18, Peking University People's Hospital Tongzhou Branch officially opened its clinics, with a daily outpatient volume of up to 4,000 people, featuring trauma emergency, obstetrics and gynecology, oncology, research wards, and general medicine. Peking University People's Hospital will shift the national high-quality medical resources, and experts will visit each hospital synchronously to provide homogeneous national-level high-quality medical services for the people.
Peking University People's Hospital, the first Western medicine general hospital created by Chinese self-financing, cooperated with the Tongzhou District Government of Beijing in 2017 to set up a Tongzhou Branch in 2017 with a construction area of 119,000 square meters and 800 beds in the first phase of the construction area. Peking University People's Hospital (Peking University Second Clinical Medical College) has also become the only hospital under the jurisdiction of the National Health Commission and the only hospital affiliated to Peking University to enter the sub-center.
According to Jiang Baoguo, president of Peking University People's Hospital, Tongzhou Campus has three major medical centers. Among them, the National Trauma Medical Center is the center set up by the National Health Commission with Peking University People's Hospital as the main body in September last year, with rich experience in the treatment of severe and complex trauma, independent trauma resuscitation units, trauma wards, trauma intensive care units, and fixed medical personnel with a sound organizational structure and related professions.
The Tongzhou Campus is actively preparing to build a national emergency medical rescue base. The ground apron located on the southwest side of the campus with a diameter of 30 meters is built according to the highest load-bearing standards for helicopter emergency rescue, and can cover the entire territory of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei with a radius of 500 kilometers. The Tongzhou campus, located in the sub-center of the capital, will become an important trauma emergency center, providing the best medical protection for the smooth holding of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, and building an "air lifeline" for aviation medical rescue services in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region in the future.
Helicopter emergency rescue can cover the entire Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area of 500 km radius.
The National Trauma Medical Center closely links pre-hospital emergency care and in-hospital emergency care, combines important functions such as air rescue and emergency handling of public health emergencies, and provides rapid diagnosis and treatment channels and treatment spaces for trauma emergency patients. At the same time, the center integrates the intensive care resources of the whole hospital, including the center ICU, light ICU, emergency observation ICU, etc., a total of 72 intensive care beds.
The other two major medical centers are the Obstetrics and Gynecology Center and the Comprehensive Oncology Treatment Center. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Center is based on the key disciplines of the Ministry of Education and the clinical key specialties of the National Health Commission, and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Peking University People's Hospital was established, based on the Tongzhou Branch, to provide assistance to patients in Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and even the whole country in obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive medicine, prenatal diagnosis and other aspects. "Combined with the hospital's advantageous disciplines and the needs of the people, reproductive medicine will focus on the development of Tongzhou Campus." Jiang Baoguo said. In addition, the comprehensive cancer treatment center jointly built by multiple advantageous disciplines will also become a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment research base for tumors.
At the same time, the first batch of research wards of Peking University People's Hospital are also settled in Tongzhou Branch, where high-level clinical research such as clinical trials of a series of drugs and medical devices and clinical application observation of new biomedical technologies will be carried out here, contributing to accelerating the collaborative innovation of medicine and health and promoting the transformation of pharmaceutical innovation achievements. The research ward guarantees at least 50 beds, dynamically adjusts, and has a department of clinical research project stationed, which is evacuated after the completion of the project, and can be flexibly used by various departments.
Jiang Baoguo said that the Tongzhou Branch of Peking University People's Hospital will be built into a comprehensive branch of the top three hospitals relying on the three major medical centers and research wards, covering internal, external, women's and children's and other disciplines, and will undertake the medical and health service functions of the city sub-center in an all-round way in the future, drive the improvement of the medical and health service capabilities of the city sub-center, and eventually build a national smart health demonstration base with the surrounding health industries such as pension and medicine as the main chain.
