Anti-wave fish, also known as squid white fish, its slender body, delicious flesh, rich in nutrients, is one of the nine plateau lakes in Yunnan Fuxian Lake endemic fish species. Anti-wave fish have extremely high water quality requirements and are regarded as the "barometer" of fuxian Lake water quality. Since the mid-1980s, due to the invasion of exotic fish species and overfishing, the anti-wave fish has been endangered. Later, with the investment of government funds and the unremitting efforts of scientists, the artificial breeding of anti-wave fish was successful.
Over the years, the breeding and breeding of anti-wave fish has also moved from the test pool of scientists to the market, and the artificial breeding and breeding base has been increasing, and the "Cloud Fish Valley" anti-wave fish breeding and breeding base in Yiliang is a typical representative. The base covers an area of 1656 acres, of which 786 acres are cultivated in water areas and 870 acres are in ecological environmental protection areas. There are 147 fish ponds with imitation wild ecological flowing water culture, and more than 120 million high-quality seedlings of anti-wave fish are hatched annually, which is the largest breeding and breeding base of anti-wave fish in Yunnan.
According to the person in charge of the base, in the "National Fish Release Day" and "Fuxian Lake Conservation Day" in 2018 and 2019, the base had more than 1 million fish fry stocked to Fuxian Lake; in June 2021, the base provided 340,000 breeding and stocking wave-resistant fish fry to the Fuxian Lake Management Bureau.
Today, the anti-wave fish has not only bid farewell to the endangered situation, but also successfully reached the people's table and become a special dish in Yunnan.
