Recently, the famous tire manufacturer Michelin released the latest Power Cup series of bicycle tires. In the field of motorcycles, the Power Cup series of tires is already a well-known tire model and is a representative of high-performance tires. Today Michelin has broadened the product line of the series into the field of bicycle tires and is very confident in declaring it "the fastest road tire ever built". The Power Cup series tires will be available in three types: open-mouth, vacuum and tube-tire versions.
The 700 x 25c open-mouth version of the tire rolls out of the tires compared to the continental GP5000, Schwalbe Pro One and Vittoria Corsa 2.0, which are the main competitors.
Not only that, but Michelin says the Power Cup series is first-class in its class in terms of weight, grip and stab resistance.
Tire roll resistance testing
Power Cup tests roll resistance, grip, tread puncture resistance and sidewall puncture resistance at Wheel Energy, an independent tire testing laboratory in Finland.
The test results show that the Power Cup has the best roll resistance performance of all the tires participating in the test, and it also has a good grip.
▲Rolling resistance test data
▲Tread puncture protection data
▲Sidewall puncture data
Tested, the average rolling resistance of the 700 x 25c Michelin Power Cup open tires was 12.75W, compared to 12.85W for the Continental GP5000, 16.825W for the Schwalbe Pro One and 18.05W for the Vittoria Corsa 2.0.
At the same time, the test results also showed that although the Power Cup was the lightest of all the products tested (220g for the GP5000, 250g for the Corsa 2.0, and 235g for the Pro One), michelin Power Cup tires also showed excellent puncture resistance.
