The BMW X3 has always been a mainstay of sales in the BMW brand and has played an important role in the luxury midsize SUV (SAV) market since its launch 20 years ago. The all-new fourth-generation BMW X3 has been upgraded in every way, showing a more sporty appeal, a more visually striking exterior design, and greater versatility.
The all-new BMW X3 adopts a new design language, with cleaner and more powerful lines and a strong sense of sportiness. The body size has been increased compared to the previous generation X3, with a length of 34 mm to 4,755 mm and a width of 29 mm to 1,920 mm. The height has been lowered by 25 mm to 1,660 mm, creating a more low-lying stance.
At the front, the front features a large, upright kidney grille with optional BMW Iconic Glow profile lighting for added style. Exudes a confident and domineering atmosphere.
The matrix LED headlight clusters are sharply shaped with daytime running lights, side lights and turn lights, with optional blue trim strips and M Shadowline lights. It is also equipped with active high beams, Urban Light switching, and active turn assist lights.
The sides of the car are sleek with sleek lines, while bold side skirts and a roofline that reaches into the rear of the car create a sporty silhouette that accentuates the sense of power. The rear wheel arches are extended outwards for a strong sense of dynamism. The tail light clusters incorporate turn signals and feature a new T-shaped design.
The X3 M50 xDrive features M-specific design features, a horizontal striped M kidney grille, BMW Iconic Glow profile lighting, and four exhaust tailpipes for M Performance.
The interior of the all-new BMW X3 adopts a driver-centric design concept, and the overall style is more modern and luxurious. The standard BMW Curved Screen integrates a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.9-inch central display, and is equipped with the latest BMW Operating System 9, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates (OTA) and a variety of in-car apps.
The centre console has a multi-layered design and is equipped with a new fly-by-wire gear lever. The seat is upholstered in Econeer, and the surface and cushioning are made of secondary materials. Both Veganza and BMW personalized merino leather upholstery are available as an option. First unveiled on a BMW model, the dashboard is made of the same material as the all-new Mini, made from recycled polyester with a premium knit texture.
The first wave of the all-new BMW X3 unveiled a variety of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid. The plug-in hybrid BMW X3 30e xDrive features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor with a system output of 299 hp/45.9 kg-m and a range of 81–90 km.
The petrol-powered BMW X3 20 xDrive is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with a 48V petrol electric engine that produces a maximum output of 208 hp/33.7 kg-m and a 0-100 km/h time of 7.8 seconds
The diesel BMW X3 20d xDrive is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 48V system that produces 197 hp and 40.8 kg-m torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds. The summer 2025 X3 will also add power to a six-cylinder inline diesel engine.
All models are powered by an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox, standard paddle shifters and BMW xDrive all-wheel drive. Models with the M Sport package and the BMW X3 M50 xDrive are also equipped with the Sport Boost feature.

The all-new BMW X3 comes standard with a wide range of equipment, including three-zone climate control, soundproof glass, Comfort Access, automatic tailgate, and electric folding of exterior mirrors. In addition, a variety of options are available, including BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Harman Kardon surround sound system, active LED headlights, and more.
In terms of technology, the all-new BMW X3 is equipped with the latest BMW Operating System 9 in-car system, which provides an intuitive operating experience. In addition, the BMW Digital Premium package is available as an option for even more digital services.
Also included in the list of options is a fixed panoramic glass sunroof, heated steering wheel, rear sunshade and preheating. Meanwhile, the new BMW X3 30e xDrive is equipped with BMW IconicSounds Electric, which offers special driving sounds.
