On June 29, Wimbledon officially announced the schedule for the first match day of the main event. Led by Zheng Qinwen and Zhang Zhizhen, a total of 9 Chinese players played on the first day. Defending Men's Singles champion Alcaraz kicked off Centre Court opener, with Sinner, Medvedev, Gauff and Sabalenka all in action on the first day.
The opening match of the Chinese players was Shang Juncheng and Zhu Lin, both of whom were scheduled to start at 6 p.m. on July 1. Shang Juncheng will be aiming for the first victory of the Chinese men's tennis team at Wimbledon, while Zhu Lin will strive to win the Wimbledon main draw again after three years.
Zheng Qinwen, seeded No. 8, was scheduled for the third match on Court 18 against Chinese player Sun Lulu, which will be played at around 11 p.m. on July 1.
Another seeded player is Zhang Zhizhen, who is also a qualifier with Qualifier Jean Vieux, scheduled for Match 2 on Court 5, which will start at around 8pm. As the first Grand Slam seed in China's men's tennis team, Zhang Zhizhen is also looking forward to making a breakthrough at Wimbledon.
After Zhang Zhizhen's match, Wang Yafan and Schmidlova will play on Court 5, the two sides have fought 4 times before, and Wang Yafan has a 3-1 advantage.
Elsewhere in China, Zhang Shuai's match against 14th seed Kasatkina is scheduled for the second match on Court 14, which will start at around 20:30 p.m. The match between Yuan Yue and Ruth is scheduled for the second match on Court 7. Wang Qiang, who has returned to the Grand Slam competition after two years, will play the last match against No. 19 seed Emma Navarro on Court 16. Wang Xiyu will face Vekic in the third match on Court 6, and the only previous meeting between the two sides Wang Xiyu has won.
The three matches on Centre Court on the first day are Alcaraz vs Layal, Raducanu vs Alexandrova, Gauff vs Dolehyde, and Centre Court will be played at 20:30 GMT.
The three matchups on Court 1 are Medvedev vs Kovacevic, Sabalenka vs Bektash, Sinner vs Hanfmann, and the No. 1 match will start at 8 p.m.
