Cable is one of the key components of the suspension bridge, how to ensure durability in the face of high temperature, high humidity and high salt in the harsh environment? In order to make the "lifeline" of the suspension bridge stronger and more durable, the builders of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor project focused on the core key technologies that restrict the durability of the main cable of the suspension bridge, and the team developed a 6mm-2060 megapascal zinc-aluminum multi-alloy coated steel wire strand for the first time in the world, and its corrosion resistance is twice that of the previous hot-dip galvanized aluminum alloy steel wire.

The Shenzhong Corridor Undersea Tunnel is about 6.8 kilometers long, and the total steel consumption is three times that of the "Bird's Nest" of the National Stadium. The steel-shelled concrete immersed tunnel is about 5 kilometers long and is divided into 32 pipe sections and 1 final joint. The standard section is 165 meters long and stands up to a 55-story building.

The docking of the final joint is like a "seabed needle", and the error should be controlled at the "millimeter level". In order to achieve this difficult goal, after two years of technical demonstration and one year of joint design, the builders pioneered a new process of integral prefabricated underwater push-out final joint of immersed tube in the world.

"Through the control system based on Beidou measurement, we have achieved a 'millimeter-level' plane installation accuracy of 15 pipe sections." Song Shenyou said that the steel-shell concrete immersed tunnel has made a number of original innovations in terms of design theory, manufacturing process, new materials, large-scale equipment and final joints, which has effectively promoted the technological progress of the mainland immersed tunnel and enriched the "Chinese plan" and "Chinese standard" of the world's cross-sea immersed tunnel.
