I should note that there is still no strict norm for priests in Russian Orthodox churches to wear rings on their fingers. It's just a tradition. Patriarch Kirill specifically allowed priests to wear rings on their fingers outside of worship and outside of their garments.
By the way, this tradition is not common among all the priests of the Orthodox churches. For example, a Romanian priest wears a wedding ring on his finger. In Romania, it is considered another example of ecclesiastical parishioners in the sense of family power.
