What are the markets in Uzbekistan selling? It's easier to say things that don't exist

Bazaars in Uzbekistan are more than just places to sell necessities. It's the primary place for people in any city to meet, communicate, share news, trade, and make new connections. You can buy everything you want here. I draw your attention to the most interesting goods I have found in the Bukhara Bazaar.

There is a choice, what is it? At first I thought they were selling some kind of dried coriander, but why these metal cups with holes in the bottom?

This herb is called "isyryk" in Uzbek. The rooms were smoked with smoke to ward off evil spirits, and in principle, Isirik's use in the Christian tradition was roughly analogous to incense. In Uzbekistan, some people collect and dry Isirik themselves, and some people just buy them at the bazaar.

To the rest of the world, issyryk is known as the "ordinary Hamala". It grows in arid areas, where the plant itself is poisonous but sometimes used in homeopathy. In Belarus, Hamara is even classified as an anesthetic substance, so the import of Uzbek issyryk is prohibited from the country.

In Russia, there is no such regulation, and most countries in the world do not have a ban on Isirik. But just in case, I'll warn you that this can be dangerous, so not a single reader will think that my introductory material is promoting something that shouldn't be advertised.

Or these stone-like things. Honestly, I don't even know what they're for. Next to them, alum, a small piece of mineral with antiseptic properties, is sold on the counter. Natives of Uzbekistan apply them to small wounds to speed up healing, or simply on lips that are chapped by frost and wind.

The miracle of nature in the pictures – I don't know, I'm not going to lie. Maybe one of you knows and writes in the comments...

Laundry soap is sold directly from cardboard boxes. From the sales point of view, laundry soap is a very popular commodity, otherwise there would not be such a large amount on the market. Honestly, I can't remember when I last bought this at home...

Well, there is no baking Uzbek bazaar! Here, its smell is forever filled in the air as they bring it to the bazaar with such a three-wheeled trolley.

Bread is not wrapped in any bag: why these neat manners? Saving the environment isn't superfluous either, though I'm not sure if the people who sell flat cakes are guided entirely by protecting the environment and not wrapping bread in cellophane.

And what kind of samsa...

For nearly a month, since I returned from a trip to Central Asia, I've gulped every time I saw this picture. Cheap, tasty and very plentiful: what else do travelers need?

Do you like Oriental Market? I wouldn't say I felt comfortable there due to the crowds, but the place is colourful.
