Recently, the 2021 ZMRobo Youth Robot Competition Tianjin City Competition was successfully held in Tanggu Ziyun Middle School in Binhai New Area, and 180 players from 102 teams from 9 districts of the city participated in the competition.

The competition is a municipal key activity, guided by Tianjin Science and Technology Association, assisted by Tianjin Binhai New Area Science and Technology Association, Tianjin Binhai New Area Education and Sports Bureau, co-sponsored by Guangzhou Zhongming Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Tianjin Education Publishing House Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Global Science Popularization Industry (Talent) Alliance, and co-organized by Tianjin Book Building and Tianjin Binhai New Area Tanggu Ziyun Middle School.

During the competition, the organizers made meticulous preparations and strictly managed from the aspects of participation registration, schedule arrangement, refereeing work, epidemic prevention and control, etc., to ensure that the competition was fair, just and open. Some of the winners will represent Tianjin in the 2021 World Robot Competition Finals "Super Trajectory Race Interstellar Exploration" project.

The competition set up four groups of children's groups, primary school groups, junior high school groups and high school groups around different themes such as "Animal World" and "Interstellar Exploration", and the contestants drew tasks on the spot and completed the robot structure construction, task programming, robot debugging and other operations according to the tasks.

The "Animal World" project is specially designed for the toddler group, and there are many small animal patterns on the task map, and the young children who participate in the competition have to plan the route through the programming module and let the robot walk through these patterns. This competition sets up a kindergarten group, not to let the children compete in a competitive way, but to let the children play in the middle school and feel the charm of the robot.

The "Interstellar Exploration" project is divided into elementary school group, middle school group and high school group. The contestants in a group of two need to accurately complete the prescribed route through the design of the robot structure and program, collect the "Yaojing Mine", refine the "dark matter", use the dark matter to "open the time and space door", and finally win the "joint construction of the homeland". Players must not only carefully analyze the overall task structure, but also look for the optimal structure to better complete the task.

After the competition, the organizing committee announced the winners of the four categories and awarded them trophies and certificates.

Tianjin Education Publishing House said that the robot competition is a platform for colliding ideas and exchanging knowledge, an extension of after-school service science education, and an active exploration to spread the spirit of competition and help young people grow up healthily. In the future, the society will also actively participate in STEM education, and strive to bring practical and interesting STEM education to more students, and help improve students' scientific inquiry ability, innovation ability and ability to solve complex problems.
