Biden also said that the United States does not seek Taiwan's "independence", but if Chinese mainland tries to unilaterally change the status quo, the United States will not fail to defend Taiwan.
As for how to "defend" Taiwan, Biden claimed that it is possible to deploy ground, air and sea forces.

The third exercise was held from May 23 to 24 this year, when the "Joint Sword-2024A" exercise simulated the strategic encirclement and battlefield control of Taiwan Island, the Penghu Islands and other major outlying islands through a cold start. The exercise focused on a comprehensive exercise of different phases of military operations, aimed at rapid strikes, ready to be dispatched at any time.
Through these three military exercises, the PLA has formed a highly centralized command system in the Taiwan Strait, which is able to quickly mobilize a large amount of forces and resources to carry out large-scale military acts aimed at isolating foreign aid, isolating Taiwan, and precisely striking at "Taiwan independence."
