Mango seed, also known as "busy seed", is the third solar term of summer. In the "Lunar Book", it is said: "Dou Zhi Si is a mango seed, and at this time there can be a valley of mang, which is invalid after this, so the name is mangs." It means that it is suitable to plant some crops with miscanthus in the season of planting, and it will be too late to plant after this season. Miscanthus seeds, usually held on June 5-7 every year, are the ninth of the 24 solar terms in China and the third of the summer. Among the 24 solar terms in China, the only one that directly reflects the farming culture in the name is the mango seed.
