The iPhone 16 series leads the way! Apple's new products are here in the second half of this year

　　Apple is a company that likes to do things according to plan. The company usually holds events or launches new products at a fixed time each year, and this year is no exception. At present, the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) event has been successfully concluded, indicating that Apple's "schedule" for this year has passed the halfway point. But for Apple, the second half of the year is the most important, and the heaviest new products often appear in the second half of the year.

　　In the second six months of this year, Apple is expected to launch these new products.

iPhone 16

　　There is no doubt that the iPhone 16 series will be the highlight of Apple's new products in the second half of the year, when Apple will launch the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro series. For now, the launch is expected to take place in September, and the timing should be certain unless something major happens.

　　This time, the main changes to the iPhone 16 series will cover several key areas. Artificial intelligence (AI) is probably the most important of these. This can be proved by the launch of Apple Intelligence during Apple's WWDC.

　　Other changes include the iPhone 16 Pro lineup will feature an A18 chip, an increased display size, new buttons on the Pro model, and the use of new battery technology.

iPad

　　Apple hasn't made any substantial updates to the iPad in 2023, which means that there could be a lot of new iPad releases in 2024. So far, Apple has launched new iPad products including the new iPad Pro with the M4 chip and the iPad Air with the M2 chip, as well as the new Apple Pencil Pro.

　　Still, there is a possibility that other models of the iPad series will change before the end of the year.

　　The base iPad and iPad mini will at least get a chip update, which will be more powerful and capable of offering Apple Intelligence capabilities. However, there are few leaks about these models and their potential features at the moment.

　　That being said, there are rumors that the OLED version of the iPad mini may not be available until after 2024. It may even end up being a waiting until 2026 to get a new iPad mini.

　　There are even quite a few rumors about folding iPads. Rumor has it that this product could be launched in late 2024 or early 2025. There is also news that the foldable iPad will come out in 2026.

Mac and MacBook

　　So far, Apple's Mac-exclusive products launched in 2024 include the MacBook Air upgrade in March. This naturally means that a ton of new Mac hardware is on the way. The new iPad Pro now uses the M4 chip, which also indicates that there is a good chance that the entire product catalog will be upgraded sooner than expected.

　　The last time Apple updated the Mac mini was in January 2023, when Apple introduced the M2 and M2 Pro chips. In this way, the end of 2024 is Apple's first choice to launch an upgraded Mac mini.

　　The situation is somewhat similar for the Mac Studio and Mac Pro, as they were launched in June 2023 and are equipped with M2 Max and M2 Ultra chips. However, there is speculation that Apple will skip 2024 and will update two products in 2025.

　　In November 2023, Apple updated the iMac and MacBook Pro series with M3. Considering that Apple didn't update the MacBook Pro until 10 months after the launch of the M2 chip, it's entirely possible that there will be a one-year gap this year.

　　According to Mark Gurman in April, the launch of an M4-powered MacBook Pro model at the end of 2024 is highly unlikely and could be delayed until early 2025. But analyst Ross Young recently looked at supply chain information and found that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will usher in new versions, and their screens are expected to start production in the third quarter of 2024. If the news is reliable, then we can probably see the release of the new MacBook Pro in the fourth quarter of 2024, just in time for the year-end shopping season.

Apple Watch

　　For the past eight years, the Apple Watch has been updated every fall, and it is usually released with the new iPhone. It's likely that Apple will continue this practice for some time.

　　The 2024 Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to be more powerful, with a larger display and an overall thinner body.

　　It is also possible that the Apple Watch Ultra will be updated, although there are doubts about whether it will be updated or not.

HomePad和AirPod

　　The HomePod and AirPod product lines are special to Apple because they don't necessarily deserve to be launched separately. However, you'd expect them to launch alongside other products. This is especially true for AirPods, which can be used as an accessory for the iPhone and may be updated in sync at the end of the year.

　　Analysts have already proposed that the AirPods and AirPods Max series will be updated by the end of 2024. This is in line with Apple's approach in previous years. Anticipated updates include improved compatibility for entry-level and mid-range AirPods, as well as the possibility of a USB-C charging case and Find My speakers. In the case of AirPods Max, it is likely that at least it will include USB-C without a Lightning connection.

　　For the HomePod and HomePod mini, Apple is rumored to be launching a display version, but the touchscreen version may not be available in 2024.

　　For reference, the HomePod mini was launched in November 2020 and has not undergone a major update in almost four years. The first-generation HomePod came out in February 2018, but after being discontinued in 2021, the second-generation model arrived in February 2023.

　　We don't know if the HomePod will get an update anytime soon, but both models haven't had a major move for some time. Apple may surprise everyone with an autumn update, but at the moment there are few rumors about it.

September vs October

　　After spending the summer celebrations at the developer conference, the most noteworthy thing on Apple's schedule is its lineup of fall events.

　　Apple doesn't usually hold media events in July and August. In fact, the last time it did so was in August 2007, when it launched its first aluminum iMac.

　　The September event is very famous because it is the time of the launch of the new iPhone.

　　As is customary, the event takes place in the first half of September, and not only the new iPhone will be announced, but Apple will also bring many other products. The company hopes to sell these products during the year-end shopping season.

　　Apple has also developed a habit of hosting multiple events in the fall, usually following September with an October event. But this doesn't happen every year, and in the past decade, 2022, 2019, 2017 and 2015 have not been held.

　　October's activity can often be seen as a "spillover" of September's activity. If the number of new products in the September event is too high, or if there is a delay due to production reasons, Apple can choose to postpone the release of the product until October.

　　Apple isn't limited to one or two events, either. For example, Apple held its third fall event in November 2020 and unveiled its first Apple Silicon Mac model. However, at that time, the epidemic severely disrupted Apple's production, causing it to launch the iPhone 12 until October.

　　While Apple is known for hosting events, it doesn't necessarily host events for all of its products. If an improvement to a product category is minor, such as an update to the specifications of the MacBook Pro, it may only issue a press release about the change.
