Poland is highly similar to Hungary in that it does not have a strong vehicle group of its own, but it has built a well-established parts industry as a supplier to the German and French automotive industries. In other words, Hungary and Poland, if they want to maintain their supply chain advantages, they must follow the automakers. For example, in the era of fuel vehicles, German and French cars were very strong, so Poland specially supplied them with spare parts, and it was fine.

But now, it's the era of new energy. If Poland does not transform, it will continue to supply spare parts to German and French fuel vehicles. At that time, the German and French fuel vehicles will be finished, and Poland will also be finished. The best option is not to put all your eggs in one basket. As a parts supplier, who supplies and not supplies? The introduction of Geely's electric vehicle production line can help Poland build a new supply chain of new energy vehicles.

At the time of the transition from fuel vehicles to electric vehicles, the layout in advance can not only eat the final dividends of the fuel vehicle industry, but also open up the electric vehicle industry and seize a better position. Why is it not Germany and France that are the first to embrace Chinese electric vehicles, but Hungary and Poland? This is because the two of them are small and turn around, which is nothing more than a change of big brother. But Germany and France both want to be their big brothers. In the field of fuel vehicles, Germany and France must not only face millions of workers, food and clothing, but also accelerate the transformation and seize the tuyere of electric vehicles.

But the difficulty is that German cars do make a lot of electric models, such as BMW i3, Mercedes-Benz EQ series, Porsche also has electric Taycan, Volkswagen ID series, etc. But these EVs are primarily based on Asian-based supply chains. For example, the Porsche electric Taycan is equipped with the battery of South Korea's LG, and the Volkswagen ID series, BMW i3, and Mercedes-Benz EQ series mostly choose China's CATL batteries.

This means that German automobiles have handed over the most core battery industry. As for intelligent driving technology, chip technology, lidar technology, etc., they are not the strong points of the German automobile industry. In terms of core supply chains, German cars have formed a heavy dependence on China. The French car directly lay flat and chose to acquire the equity of Leapmotor and became the largest shareholder of Leapmotor. After winning Leap, Stellantis came to a reverse output, with the help of Leap's electric vehicle technology, set up Leapmotor International, and sold Chinese electric vehicles overseas.

At the same time, Stellantis can also absorb the electric technology of Leap and quickly catch up with the international trend. Now the most anxious is not Poland and Hungary, which are the middle and lower reaches of the EU auto industry, they can mix with anyone, as long as they can hug their thighs and make money. With a population of 83 million, Germany is one of the first developed countries in Europe, with more than 10% of GDP coming from the automobile industry, contributing millions of jobs and generating 12% of tax revenue. It can be said that the automotive industry is the lifeblood of Germany.

But the EU has a fatal weakness. It is based on the principle of unanimity, and many policies cannot be pursued with just one vote against it. This is where China seizes the opportunity. You will find that the introduction of Chinese car factories is all medium-sized countries within the European Union, such as Spain, Hungary, and Poland. They are not in the first camp of the European Union, but they all have a solid industrial base, such as steel, machinery, electronics manufacturing, etc.

In the scramble for the Chery factory, Italy suffered a big loss. Italy hesitated, and Chery turned around and threw himself into Spain. Italy missed out on the Chery plant, and there may not be a second Chinese car company to build a factory in Italy in the next decade. But Spain, with more decisive determination, became the first EU member state to eat crabs.

With Spain, Hungary, and Poland, it will only become more difficult for the EU to restrict Chinese cars in the future. The captain has always supported Chinese cars to build factories overseas. The reason is simple:

First, if you don't go, people will raise tariffs and close the market, and you won't be able to sell a single car. Without overseas orders, Chinese car companies can only roll in China, and cannot roll overseas at all.

Second, Europe is a developed market comparable to the United States, and if Europe is not won, it will be difficult for the high-end and internationalization of Chinese automobiles to get through. Cheap cars, we sell to Asia, Africa and Latin America, Russia, and they can afford it. But for high-end cars, the purchasing power of these countries is quite limited.

If you want to become the world's top automobile industry power, you must not only win Asia, Africa and Latin America, but also Europe, America and Australia. Don't think that when Chinese car companies go overseas to build factories, they are transferring domestic employment. If you don't go overseas to build a factory, people won't let you sell it, you still don't have an order, and if you don't have an order, you still don't have a job. Going overseas to build factories can also create some high-paying management and technical posts for China. Just like Apple, the highest-paid R&D department and design department are mainly located in the United States, and only low-paid foundries are placed overseas.

For Chinese cars to go overseas, building factories overseas is an indispensable step.
