RoboTest unmanned vehicle intelligent test platform (hereinafter referred to as "RoboTest platform") is a robot test system independently developed by car companies and applied to the vehicle test and certification process, representing the future trend of automobile research and development.

As early as 2020, the RoboTest platform began to be applied to SAIC-GM's vehicle test and certification process, and the whole system consists of two core parts: the vehicle end and the cloud. Among them, the vehicle-end controller integrates the driving robot system, positioning perception equipment and control module to collect vehicle-end data and execute vehicle control decisions. There is no need to destroy the original structure of the vehicle, and it can be quickly disassembled and assembled on demand, which is its biggest feature, and the design idea of lightweight, standardized and modular greatly improves the efficiency of the vehicle testing process.

The function of the cloud control center is to remotely configure the test path, and monitor and manage it in real time to ensure the standardization of the test process. After the introduction of the robot system, the RoboTest platform eliminates the influence of human factors and equipment errors on endurance tests such as endurance, hub rotation, and throttle setting, so that the system has higher accuracy and strong durability, thereby significantly improving the test quality and verification efficiency.

However, under certain dangerous test conditions such as airbag calibration, the application of robots greatly enhances the safety of the test process. In addition, after the digital transformation of the vehicle test specification, the data at the input end can not only drive the robot system for testing, but also serve as a "digital test assistant" to assist some necessary manual tests, improving the accuracy and efficiency of manual testing.

The highly versatile design also enables the RoboTest platform to adapt to the testing needs of SAIC-GM's full range of models and most of its competitors. At present, the RoboTest platform has been widely used in multiple benches and road test sites of the Pan Asia Automotive Technical Center, including bench tests on durability, noise, emissions, thermodynamics and performance. In addition, it has demonstrated adaptability and reliability in road tests such as Belgian roads, road steaders (G0 level) and hazard projects, among which the mileage of durable bench tests has reached 1.5 million kilometers, marking the mature application stage of the RoboTest platform.

In addition to Pan Asia Automotive Technology, the RoboTest platform has been recognized by professional institutions such as China Automotive Technology and Research Center and Shanghai Motor Vehicle Testing and Certification Technology Research Center, and cooperation in research projects such as the use of RoboTest platform for vehicle testing and testing has been put on the agenda. Accuracy, durability and safety are the most distinctive features of the RoboTest platform, which will also be used as a new tool in the field of SAIC-GM vehicle testing and certification, speeding up the process of intelligent and efficient vehicle R&D and testing.
