Address: Chinese Editing Center, Commercial Press, No. 36 Wangfujing Street, Beijing Contact: Zhu Junxuan, Zheng Zuozhi Tel: 65219176 E-mail: [email protected] In 2002, the Commercial Press invested 1 million yuan to set up a linguistics publishing fund. The Commercial Press's Linguistics Publishing Fund is used to support Chinese scholars who have contributed to the investigation and study of the current situation or history of Chinese, Chinese characters or other languages in China. In particular, he advocates the combination of Chinese studies and theoretical exploration, the study of Chinese ontology and applied research, the combination of synchronic and diachronic studies of Chinese, the combination of standard language studies and dialect studies, the combination of Chinese studies and non-Chinese studies, and the combination of Chinese studies and cross-linguistic studies. Advocate a solid, rigorous, scientific and innovative style of study, and encourage academic contention. Particular attention is paid to discovering and nurturing talents, especially young people. The Commercial Press's Linguistics Publishing Fund is headed by Gu Qing, the legal representative, executive director, and a well-known domestic linguist is hired as a standing member of the fund. They are (in alphabetical order): Dai Qingxia (Minzu University of China), Guo Rui (Peking University), Hu Jianhua (Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Huang Changning (Tsinghua University), Jiang Lansheng (Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Jiang Shaoyu (Peking University), Li Yuming (Beijing Language and Culture University), Liu Danqing (Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Lu Guoyao (Nanjing University), Lu Jianming (Peking University), Qiu Xigui (Fudan University), Shen Jiaxuan (Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences), Hongjun Wang (Peking University), Ning Wang (Beijing Normal University), Bojiang Zhang (Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences). At the same time, according to the actual situation of the participating manuscripts, a number of experts are hired to serve as non-permanent members of the review committee every year. The fund mainly finances the publication of the "Chinese Chinese Language Library". The library is divided into four series: the first series is the works of the older generation of linguists, mainly handed down from generation to generation, and the title of the book is named after the "collection of linguistic essays" containing the author's name. The second series is the works of middle-aged and elderly linguists, mainly monographs or monograph collections. The third series is the works of young and middle-aged linguists, mainly thematic works. The fourth series is the work of overseas linguists. At present, the third series, a collection of works by young and middle-aged linguists, is the focus of publication. The special issue of young and middle-aged linguists only selects excellent works recommended by experts (professors, researchers, editors). Applicants log on to the website of the Commercial Press to download and fill in the "Information Form for Participants of the Commercial Press Linguistics Publishing Fund", and provide the corresponding materials according to the "Breakdown of Participating Materials of the Commercial Press Linguistics Publishing Fund", which is tentatively scheduled for September 30. Entries must be unpublished and mainly doctoral dissertations. The number of words is generally more than 100,000 words and less than 300,000 words. The Fund is selected once a year, and the number of subsidized places for each grant is not more than six (if there is more than one author, one person will be counted). All funded works were published by the Commercial Press. If the author fails to submit the manuscript after more than 3 years, it will be deemed to be automatically abandoned. In order to ensure the quality and fairness of the works funded by the publication fund, the fund adopts an anonymous review system for manuscripts, and requires reviewers to point out the advantages and existing problems of the participating works in the spirit of being responsible for academics. When a work funded by the Fund is published, the reviewer's comments will be attached to the book. At the same time, the fund also adopts a review recusal system, in which the author's supervisor or the manuscript reviewer among the review members temporarily recuse themselves during the review and voting. In order to adapt to the new situation and promote the development of language education in mainland China, on the basis of the original linguistics evaluation group, the Foundation has also set up a language education evaluation group since 2006 to select and fund the publication of excellent works in the fields of teaching Chinese as a foreign language (international Chinese education), mother tongue teaching, foreign language teaching and minority language teaching. At the same time, in order to support young and middle-aged scholars, the Foundation regularly organizes the "Salon of Young and Middle-aged Language Scholars", in which young and middle-aged scholars in a certain field are invited to participate in the meeting, in addition to the members of the evaluation committee. The forum has been held for 15 sessions so far. 2002-2023 Selected Works of the Commercial Press Linguistics Publishing Fund (Green Bibliography is Published)
