  • The "Yangtze River Flood No. 1 of 2024" formed in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.
  • It is expected that in the next week, the section below Chenglingji, the main stream of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, will face a situation of over-alarm on the whole line, and the maximum over-alarm range of the Jiujiang section is about 1.0 meters.

"Poyang Lake Flood No. 1 of 2024" was formed

Affected by the heavy rainfall in recent days, the water level of the Hukou Hydrological Station of Poyang Lake rose to 19.52 meters at 11 o'clock on the 28th, and according to the "Regulations on the Numbering of Major River Floods in Jiangxi Province", the flood numbering standard was reached, and the "No. 1 Flood of Poyang Lake in 2024" was formed on the 28th.

Defensive emergency response to Level 3

Today (28th), the No. 1 flood of this year occurred in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and Dongting Lake will approach or exceed the warning water level, and the flood control situation in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is grim.

According to the "Regulations for Emergency Response to Flood and Drought Disasters of the Ministry of Water Resources", the Ministry of Water Resources upgraded the flood prevention emergency response for Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hunan provinces to level 3 at 12 o'clock on the 28th, and urgently dispatched four additional working groups to the front line of flood control to guide local flood prevention work.

The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue an orange warning for heavy rain at 10 o'clock on the 28th: It is expected that from 14 o'clock on the 28th to 14 o'clock on the 29th, there will be heavy rain in parts of central Anhui, central Jiangsu, southeastern Henan, central and eastern Hubei, northern Hunan, northeast Guizhou and other places, and local heavy rain (250~280 mm) in northeast Hubei and other places.

On the 28th, the eastern section of the rain belt will lift north to the southern part of Huanghuai and the Jianghuai area, and from the 29th to the 30th, the rain belt will gradually press south to the northern part of Jiangnan to the northern part of Guangxi.

From the 28th to the 30th, the cumulative rainfall in southern Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei, central and northern Hunan, Guizhou, northern Jiangxi and other places was 80~200 mm, and the northeast of Hubei, central Anhui, northwest Hunan, and northern Guangxi exceeded 300 mm. This process is accompanied by short-term heavy rainfall (the maximum hourly rainfall is 30~50 mm, more than 80 mm locally), local thunderstorms and strong winds and other strong convective weather.
