The mainland introduced many new varieties of fruits from Japan.

For example, the red Fuji apple in the apple; Summer black grapes, Kyoho grapes, Sunshine Rose grapes, Queen Nina grapes; Autumn moon pear, Fengshui pear in pear; The red strawberry and the Zhangji strawberry in the strawberry; Jelly orange and ugly orange in citrus......

Akizuki Pear

When these new varieties of fruits just entered the mainland, most of them were "sky-high fruits" at the beginning, and the market price would be very high, and after a few years, when everyone has mastered the planting technology and the planting is flooded, the market price will gradually fall.

Hardly any of them can escape this "trajectory of fate".

But this year, there is a sky-high fruit that is very special, although it is also a sky-high fruit introduced from Japan, but it is fundamentally different from those sky-high fruits in the past.

Why?

Probably the most expensive citrus out there

In recent years, one of the new citrus varieties introduced from Japan is relatively popular, that is, "Ganping citrus". Ganping citrus is indeed a new variety of citrus, and the current price is very luxurious. It's just that it's hardly the most expensive citrus at the moment.

Because above the Ganping citrus, there is another existence that is too outrageous.

This citrus is called "Karatsu mandarin".

This year, on the online platform, the price of Tangjin tangerines has been ridiculously speculated. A Tangjin tangerine is fried to a sky-high price of 30-50 yuan, and the price of a pound of Tangjin tangerines is about 300-400 yuan.

Note that this is not a yen, this is the price of "Karatsu mandarins" after the introduction of the mainland. In Japan, we took a cursory look at the price of Karatsu mandarins and found that the price of Tangjin mandarins is not as "sky-high" as in our country, and many of them are only one-third of the domestic price.

So, what kind of orange variety is this Karatsu mandarin? Why is it sold at such a high price in China?

A "fictional" new citrus variety?

If Karatsu mandarin is a new citrus variety introduced from Japan, it will be somewhat controversial.

The reason is that Karatsu is not a variety name, nor is it a trade name. The exact name of "Karatsu mandarin" should be "Saga Karatsu mandarin". The name originally referred to citrus grown in Karatsu City, Saga Prefecture, Japan, which is the same as "Yantai apple".

Karatsu is the second largest city in Saga Prefecture, Japan. Citrus has been grown here, but in the past, citrus was grown in the open air, and the ripening period of citrus was around winter. The competition with citrus from other regions is too fierce to sell at a high price.

Around 1973, Karatsu City began to grow greenhouse citrus, and the citrus matured until summer, with the slogan "citrus eaten in summer". Karatsu citrus has also gradually become synonymous with summer citrus in Japan.

To put it bluntly, Karatsu citrus is famous because it is a greenhouse citrus, an out-of-season citrus. It has little to do with its variety.

In terms of variety, Tangjin citrus is not a certain variety, there are many varieties of miscellaneous, among which Wenzhou mandarin native to the mainland is also a cultivar of Tangjin citrus.

Although many people have introduced "Karatsu citrus" from Japan, it is more likely that the technology of growing citrus in greenhouses has been introduced, and it has little to do with the variety.

Karatsu citrus, the so-called new variety of citrus, has some "imaginary" ingredients.

Karatsu citrus is confusing

As for the domestic trade name "Karatsu citrus", this is actually a bit awkward. I didn't know that I thought it was a citrus imported from Karatsu, Japan.

Theoretically, the only fruits that the mainland is allowed to import from Japan are apples and pears, and nothing else.

Selling the Japanese origin as a trade name is somewhat suspicious of cutting the IQ tax. If it is really a citrus grown in a greenhouse and goes on the market in the summer, then it is actually possible to sell it as greenhouse citrus.

It is normal for the price of "out-of-season fruits" to be higher, and to meet the personalized consumption needs, there must be personalized prices.

But there is a question, how can many so-called "Karajin citrus" on the Internet distinguish the real from the fake?

Some Karatsu citrus is actually "frozen" citrus, which makes consumers a little skeptical of its authenticity. Because this thing is not a Sunshine Rose grape, you can tell at a glance that it is not a Sunshine Rose grape.

There is no clear definition of Karatsu citrus at the moment, and just because it says "Karatsu Mandarin" is printed on the box does not prove that it is Karatsu Mandarin.

Therefore, at present, this sky-high fruit called "Karatsu citrus", whether it is true or false, is at least a little confusing.

I don't know what everyone thinks?
