During the lecture, Zhou Chun, a Red Cross lecturer from the Fourth People's Hospital of Shanghai, explained the origin of the Red Cross, the correct dialing of 120, the use of cardiopulmonary resuscitation AED, Heimlich and other first-aid knowledge to more than 40 primary school students of Shangwaiwai Chinese Primary School in Shanghai, and guided the children to conduct simulation exercises. Convey first aid concepts and knowledge to children, enhance their awareness of self-help and mutual rescue, and reduce secondary injuries.

"Time is of the essence, and when an accidental injury occurs, the most effective rescue time is only 4-6 minutes, which is what is called the 'golden life-saving time' in medicine. For every minute of delay, the mortality rate skyrockets. Zhou Chun told the children, "According to statistics, 87% of myocardial infarction patients have disease attacks outside the hospital. More than 25 per cent of these patients died because the first witness did not know how to take first aid. Therefore, we should be committed to popularizing the common sense of emergency care, so that everyone knows first aid and knows first aid. ”

Zhou Chun said that he hopes to use on-site theoretical knowledge, operational skills training, on-site drills and other methods to let primary school students master the correct first-aid skills from an early age, enhance their self-rescue and mutual rescue capabilities, especially let them know the importance of striving for the "golden moment" in emergencies, and add a barrier to save lives.

It is reported that in 2024, the "Life Classroom" volunteer service project of Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital also won the "Winning Award" of the Shanghai Health Industry Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition.
