As a national historical and cultural city, Shenyang has never had a comprehensive museum that reflects the history of the city. In September 2017, with the approval of the Liaoning Provincial Government, the former Liaoning Provincial Museum and Comprehensive Business Building was used as the site of the Shenyang Museum. The exhibition "Shenyang History Exhibition" tells the history and culture of Shenyang over the past 110,000 years. In addition, there are more than 450 sets of high-grade cultural relics from 21 museums in the LiaoHe River Basin, gathered in one place, the Collection of Fine Works of the LiaoHe River Basin Museum, and the Exhibition of Blue and White Porcelain of the Ming and Qing Dynasties of the Shenyang Museum.
