On December 24, Xiaomi announced that the Xiaomi Mi 12Pro will use 120W fast charging, and it is also a new self-developed 120W surging second charging technology. The Xiaomi Mi 12 series will be officially released on December 28.

Lei Jun, founder, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, said: Xiaomi 12Pro surging P1 charging chip is coming! For the first time, the industry has implemented 120W single-cell charging technology. In the thin and light body, it takes into account 120W fast charging and large battery capacity to fill the gap in the industry. After 18 months, it cost more than 100 million yuan for a better battery life and charging experience. This is xiaomi's third self-developed chip.

Lei Jun said that at present, Xiaomi has launched three chips of S1/C1/P1, and we will firmly continue to increase investment in research and development, and Xiaomi's chips will move forward step by step.

As early as 2017, Xiaomi released and mass-produced its first SOC surging S1. By March 2021, Xiaomi has released another ISP chip, the Surging C1, and built it into the Mix FOLD, a Xiaomi folding screen phone. Today, Xiaomi announced that its third self-developed chip, the Surging P1, has been mass-produced and will be launched on the Xiaomi Mi 12 Pro.

In the research and development of the surging P1, Xiaomi has also invested a lot in manpower, financial resources and time, the project lasted 18 months, and the four major R& D centers worked together, costing 100 million.
