On June 25, SAIC-GM officially presented an innovative breakthrough in the field of vehicle testing and certification - "RoboTest unmanned vehicle intelligent test platform", which is also the only robot test system independently developed by car companies and systematically applied to the vehicle test and certification process in the main engine factory. Officially, the intelligent platform can be 100% adapted to SGM models, meeting the needs of most friends/competitors.
The RoboTest platform was first used in SAIC-GM's vehicle test and certification process in 2020, and has now entered the stage of mature systematic application, with the whole system consisting of two core parts: the vehicle end and the cloud. The vehicle-end controller integrates the driving robot system, positioning and perception equipment and control module, and can realize quick disassembly and assembly without destroying the original structure of the vehicle through lightweight, standardized and modular design. The cloud control center is responsible for the remote configuration of test specifications, test paths, real-time monitoring and management, as well as wireless transmission and analysis of test data to ensure the efficiency and accuracy of the test. Because the RoboTest platform uses a robot system, it has the characteristics of high precision and strong durability compared with traditional human driving, which can significantly improve the test quality and verification efficiency, and provide the best development guarantee for the performance consistency of the model.
For example, in the endurance, hub durability, throttle and other tests, the RoboTest platform eliminates the influence of human factors and equipment errors to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test. Under certain dangerous test conditions such as airbag calibration, the application of robots greatly enhances the safety of the test process; The RoboTest platform can also digitize the vehicle test specifications, which can not only be input to the robot, but also serve as a "digital test assistant" to assist manual testing, improving the accuracy and efficiency of manual testing.
At present, the RoboTest platform has been widely used in multiple benches and road test sites of the Pan Asia Automotive Technical Center, including bench tests such as durability, noise, emissions, thermodynamics and performance, as well as road tests such as Belgian roads, road steaders (G0 class) and hazard projects, all of which have demonstrated strong applicability and reliability. Up to now, the mileage of the endurance bench test alone has reached 1.5 million kilometers, and more test scenarios will be met in the future.
