This year, there are two artists in the stunning appearance of the "Meet Dalian Heartbeat" exhibition area in the Davos Forum venue, they are the masters of Chinese arts and crafts, the founder of Dalian Jin'ashan Art Museum, and the representative of the Ganjingzi United Front Jin Ahsan and Jin Ji.
As a characteristic intangible cultural heritage project of a coastal city, Dalian's exquisite shell carving handicrafts have attracted many guests, especially foreign guests. As the inheritor of Dalian shell carving, Jin Asan took his son Jin Ji to enthusiastically introduce shell carving products at the scene. "This kind of handicraft carved from shells was deeply loved by foreigners in the 80s of the 20th century, when the export output value of Dalian shell carving could reach 10 million yuan." Jin Ji introduced, Dalian shell carving in the overseas market has been in short supply, but in the past few years, with the shrinking of the European market and the rise in labor, raw material costs and other factors, he and his father decided to divide the shell carving production into two complementary parts, one part continues to do exports, the other part is led by Jin Ahsan to form a design team, so that Dalian shell carving to high-end handicraft production.

A shell carving titled "Shou" is particularly eye-catching, with two white cranes coming to life, implying the longevity of pine cranes, which took nearly two years to make by Jin Ashan. Jin Ashan, 80 years old this year, has been learning shell carving with his grandmother since he was a child, and he still works ten hours a day. Coming to Davos for on-site display, Jin Ji said that he and his father were very excited to show Dalian's shell carvings to more foreign guests, showing the unique charm of Dalian as a coastal city, and hoped that through this platform, more people would know about shell carvings and pass on Dalian's intangible cultural heritage. Jin Ahsan told reporters: "As long as I can still work, I will always insist on making shell carvings." ”
In the industry, the master of Chinese arts and crafts is referred to as the "national master", the highest level of professional arts and crafts. At present, there are 7 "national masters" in our province. Legend has it that among the only five "national masters" in China's shell carving industry, Jin Ahsan and Jin Ji, father and son, occupy two seats, and one is Jin Ashan's apprentice. The father and son duo created the "Zhenbei Art" masterpieces frequently, and won the Shanhua Award, which is the first time that our province and even the northeast region have won this honor since the award reform in 2016. Dalian Jin Ashan Art Museum has now become an international cultural exchange base for overseas Chinese in Liaoning, as well as a practical training base for the united front in Ganjingzi District and a practical teaching base for major universities, which has built a high-end platform for handicraft artists from all walks of life in Dalian to exchange, share and learn, and gradually become an innovation center for cultural exchanges in Ganjingzi area and the whole city, and a bright spot in Dalian's cultural exhibition industry.
