Du Shi, a full-time painter in the government system, specializing in Chinese landscape painting, was born in Linyi, Shandong Province in 1956.
He is now a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Shandong Artists Association, a national first-class artist, a lifelong distinguished professor of painting creation and aesthetic education at the Academy of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, a painter of Longrui Studio of the China National Academy of Painting, a painter of the Central Academy of Painting of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, a senior painter of the Shandong Academy of Painting, a painter in the career of Shandong Linyi Painting Institute, the director of the Landscape Painting Professional Committee of the Linyi Artists Association, a visiting professor of the Academy of Fine Arts of Linyi University, and the vice president of the Shandong Linyi Charity Association.
There is Du Shi Art Museum in Linyi, Shandong Province, which was awarded the title of "Famous Studio" by the China Vocational Education Society.
Mainly engaged in Chinese landscape painting, he is good at freehand landscapes and green and heavy color landscapes, and studied under Mr. Long Rui, Huang Gesheng, Li Bo, Zeng Xianguo and so on. At the end of the 80s, he was personally taught by Mr. Li Keran, Zhang Ding, Ya Ming, Song Wenzhi, Cui Zifan, etc. He has held solo and group exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Jinan, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Belgium, France, etc., and has won many awards in exhibitions sponsored by the China Artists Association and the China National Academy of Painting. He has published many sets of personal collections, and has won many gold, silver and bronze awards in major art exhibitions at home and abroad. He has been invited to participate in the "Nine Contemporary Chinese Landscape Painters Exhibition", toured in South Korea, Jinan, Qufu and other places, and participated in international exchange activities such as "Chinese Painting Masters Tour Exhibition in Europe" and "Chinese Painting Masters Japan Exchange Exhibition".
