The first cultural event of the "China-Egypt Partnership Year", "Tea and the World, Nileya Collection" and Xiamen Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference, was recently held in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The event used tea as a medium to convey affection through tea, inviting guests from all walks of life in Egypt to taste tea and appreciate the arts, and talk about the bright future of China-Egypt friendship. The event takes tea culture as the main line, and vividly shows the customs of Xiamen and traditional Chinese culture through tea art performances, traditional dances, Nanyin performances, picture displays, etc.

Former Prime Minister of Egypt Essam Sharaf said at the event that in recent years, the Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership has flourished, cooperation in various fields has achieved fruitful results, and people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly close. He himself has visited China many times, visiting Xiamen twice, and he has been deeply impressed by the profound heritage of Chinese traditional culture and the warm and friendly Chinese people.
Liao Liqiang, Chinese ambassador to Egypt, said that not long ago, China and Egypt issued a joint statement on deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and declared this year as the "Year of China-Egypt Partnership," pointing out the direction for the development of China-Egypt relations in the next stage.
The event was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Embassy in Egypt, and organized by the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the China Cultural Center in Cairo.
