With the vigorous development of urban tourism, double-decker sightseeing buses, as one of the city's business cards, have attracted more and more attention to their safe operation. In order to improve the rescue ability of double-decker buses in emergencies and ensure the safety of passengers, on the afternoon of June 28, the double-decker bus rescue drill jointly organized by the Huangpu Traffic Police Detachment, the Red Cross Society of Wuliqiao Street in Huangpu District and Shanghai Dragonfly Sightseeing Bus Co., Ltd. was successfully held in the Ship Pavilion of the World Expo.
The purpose of this drill is to familiarize the drivers and passengers with the escape routes and self-rescue measures of the double-decker buses, and improve the emergency response capabilities. At the same time, it also allowed the traffic police and Red Cross staff participating in the drill to better grasp the characteristics of double-decker buses, and understand the rescue process and treatment methods for the injured in emergency situations.
Before the start of the drill, a rehearsal decomposition and stage training were carried out to ensure that each link could be completed accurately and quickly. At 2 o'clock in the afternoon, as the drill officially began, the scene of simulated vehicle fire quickly unfolded. The police on duty found the danger in time, guided the vehicle to stop safely, and calmed the passengers' emotions at the same time. Immediately afterwards, the driver and passengers guided the passengers to escape in an orderly manner in accordance with the standardized process, and quickly evacuated the dangerous area through the doors, windows and escape passages on the second floor.
During the rescue process, the Red Cross staff provided timely treatment to the simulated wounded, including carrying, bandaging and the use of defibrillators. At the same time, the traffic police department also quickly set up a warning area to divert traffic and open up a green channel to ensure that rescue vehicles can arrive at the scene smoothly.
The drill also simulated a scenario in which a motorcycle leads multiple motorcycles to close the road in a loop and escort the injured to the hospital. The whole exercise process was tense and orderly, and all departments worked together, showing good emergency response ability and teamwork spirit.
After the exercise, the relevant person in charge of the Huangpu Traffic Police Detachment commented and summarized the results of the exercise, and spoke highly of the performance of the participants. The drill not only improved the emergency rescue capability of the double-decker bus, but also provided a strong guarantee for the healthy development of the city's tourism industry.
