Two of the victims were Chinese nationals.
According to the Pahang Fire Department, they received a call from the police at around 10.40am that a tourist bus had flipped over at kilometer 16.5 of Genting Highlands Road near Kuala Lumpur.
After the incident, rescuers rushed to the scene. At present, the injured have been taken to the nearby Bentong Hospital and Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
On June 29, local time, the staff of Pahang Bentong Hospital told a reporter from Southern Metropolis Daily that the hospital had obtained valid identity documents, and the two passengers killed in the overturning accident of the tourist bus were Chinese citizens. In addition, six injured Chinese nationals are currently being treated in hospitals.
After the accident, there was severe congestion on the main road from Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, to the east coast.
