One of Dubai's most famous landmarks, the Museum of the Future is located along Sheikh Zayed Road, the city's highway. Founded by the Dubai Future Foundation, the museum was launched on 22 February 2022 to explore how society will use science and technology to grow in the coming decades. Dubbed the "Living Museum," it blends elements of traditional exhibitions, immersive theater, and themed attractions to allow visitors to look beyond the present and look to a future of limitless opportunities. The design of the Museum of the Future, an asymmetrical ring encased in steel and glass, was named one of the 14 most beautiful museums in the world by National Geographic.

The story of a desert treasure

Head to the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library, an inspired landmark on the banks of Dubai Creek with a traditional Islamic chanting stand designed that blends tradition with modern aesthetics. With a collection of more than 1 million books, including rare 13th-century books, manuscripts, and documents, the library provides visitors with a treasure trove of knowledge to explore.

The Sindagar Museum, also located on the side of Dubai Creek, tells the story of the country's sacred and proud past through the multimedia project 'Dubai Creek: The Birth of a City'. Featuring interactive videos, touch screens, photographs and artefacts, the museum's exhibits give visitors an insight into how Emiratis once lived by the water, and how maritime trade affected their livelihoods.

Walking into the Al Fahidi Historic District, visitors are transported back to Dubai in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Much of the old infrastructure has been preserved, and visitors can stroll through the winding streets and sun-drenched squares and feel the history. The neighbourhood hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year, such as the Sika Art Fair and Heritage Week, traditional teahouses and cafes, nostalgic streets, winding paths and breezy towers that tell the story of the UAE's pre-founding history.
