Haldane said he and RSA shared challenges from technology to longevity, from inequality to the environment. "Tackling these new challenges will require new thinking, new policies, and a new partnership between government, industry, and civil society to work together," he said in a statement released by RSA.
Nomination for a Life Fellowship of the Royal Society of Arts and Crafts requires high-level achievements or outstanding contributions related to natural sciences, humanities and arts, industrial manufacturing, etc.
Normally, the nominees for life fellows have doctoral degrees and (professor) senior titles, and the nominated candidates must finally be approved in accordance with the established procedures of the Royal Charter: recommendation, nomination, election, and finally by the resolution of the review committee to become a life member of the institution, which is currently the highest academic honorary title conferred on an individual by the institution.
