From the establishment of the project in the 90s to the completion of the final Beidou-3, it took more than 20 years and overcame many difficulties, because when the United States and Europe knew that China was going to build its own satellite navigation system, on the one hand, it was ridiculed, and on the other hand, it was a technical blockade, resulting in all core technologies and equipment having to be developed by themselves.
In 2003, Beidou-1 was completed, Beidou-2 was completed in 2012, and the Beidou-3 global satellite navigation system was fully deployed in 2020, realizing global coverage, so China officially got rid of its dependence on the United States GPS.
Up to now, 100% of all smartphones sold in China support Beidou navigation, numerous navigation maps, and Beidou priority, and the use of GPS is sorted, which has been after Beidou.
From a technical point of view, the average global positioning accuracy is 2.34 meters, the average speed measurement accuracy is better than 0.2 meters per second, the timing accuracy is better than 20 nanoseconds, and the service availability is better than 99%, which is better than Galileo and Gnass, and even stronger than GPS.
Based on China's huge market, Beidou navigation is rapid, and the current daily call volume and usage of Beidou satellites have surpassed other satellite navigation systems such as GPS, ranking first in the world.
Beidou has covered more than 3 billion users in the world, and the number of users is no less than the GPS of the United States, and some media reports say that there are currently 122 countries in the world that pay for the Beidou system, use the Beidou navigation system, and no longer use GPS.
